fiulijn (7150), Como; Lausanne (CH); Malmö (SWE), Italy Jan 9, 2009 Bottle from International House of Cheese, Ludgate Hill, London Pale color. It has a very strong aroma of flowers, more than honey. Sweet, not syrupy, with flower flavor and some honey. I like sweet drinks, but this Mead is not impressive. BMan1113VR (2756), Los Angeles (and Dallas), Texas, USA Dec 14, 2008 Listed as Lurgashall English Mead. I have also seen the Celtic Mead available. Pours with a clear golden hue and some small alcohol legs. Aroma is of alcohol, butterscotch and really sweet Sue Bee Honey. Taste is fruity with honey, alcohol, vanilla, almonds, and dried apricots. Very thin mouthfeel for a mead, but preserves a sense of drinkability similar to a fruity sweet white wine. aaaaaaaaaah (61), Warren, Michigan, USA Oct 22, 2008 My first mead. Initial flavor of clover honey straight through. Slight alcohol taste at the end. Hard to drink more then one glass. machfive55 (218), Columbia, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 20, 2008 Poured a golden yellow, crystal clear. Smells of honey, floral, orange, earthiness, very complex aroma. Can’t say the same about the flavor, very, very sweet, I was expecting slightly drier. It was very cloying. I should really stick to rating beer as my mead experience is lacking. BlackDonald (1127), Boise, Idaho, USA May 13, 2008 This is quite nice, if you follow the instructions and warm it up with the mulling spices. Its very dry all by itself, but the spices add touches of cinnamon and nutmeg. Pwn3d (1036), Manhattan, New York, USA Apr 16, 2008 Reads English Mead. First mead I’ve ever had, part of a blind beer tasting. Taste of thin honey and smells like petrol. Surprisingly enjoyable and lightly carbonated. Not sure if I could kill the whole bottle.. but it was a good beginners experience - im looking forward to trying more mead! Odin be praised! bdigital (585), Ft Wayne, Indiana, USA Mar 20, 2008 Bottle: Poured at J.K. O’Donnell’s. Light gold in color, slightly syrupy. Sweet, floral honey-based aroma, notes of some soft herbs. Slightly sweet, dry honey flavor with the floral and herb notes coming through in a very tame fashion. nearbeer (1833), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA Feb 26, 2008 Updated: Aug 22, 2008"English Mead" version. Clear and pale white-gold. Spicy-sweet honey, earthy grape, and perfumed talcum powder in the aroma. Flavor is best described in the same way. Slightly dry on the finish. Alcohol not too overpowering for 12.5%, but does warm the gullet nicely.
