| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 10, 2007 Aroma of pear must, honey and a hint of grass and hay. Pours a bright pale gold. Flavor starts sweet but fades into a nice white wine like acidity with some honey and floral notes along the way. Fairly viscous and oily on the palate. Finishes with some honey sweetness. kp (8400), Woodstock, Georgia, USA

the mulling mutes the sweetness in the aroma and brings out the spices, much more complex with lots of spiced flavor, only a hint of sweetness, heat thins the body,

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 23, 2007 Presentation: Clear half-bottle, olde tyme-y label. Pours a clear light gold. 12.5% ABV.
Nose: Rich honey, some earthy tones. A hint of leaf tobacco, and overtones of peach.
Taste: Some dryness upfront, background of earthiness throughout. Nicely complex honey character, with the medium sweetness gradually coming to the front. Floral peach tones from the nose come through in the middle. Finish is sweet but not cloying, and slightly reminiscent of leather.
Overall: Very nice mead. The complexity balances the sweetness quite well. JK (2949), Richfield, Minnesota, USA

Almost a slightly soured clove honey aroma. The taste definitely seems to be clover honey to me with an almost stale/oxidized finish. hughie (3054), Bedford, Bedfordshire, England

Still and golden. Sweet, musty marzipan aroma. Taste is sweet with the very faintest fruity sourness. Brought back memories of the ’great mead-hall of Heorot’ in Beowulf, from University English lectures circa 1969. Can’t say I really liked the mead though. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 1, 2007 Thanks brewfiend for sharing this honey brew. Pours a clear chardonnay white beverage with no head or fine bubbles. Aroma of rich clover and orange flower honey, a touch of vanilla and some dry herbs. Taste is definately a sweet mead with lots of honey character, but lighter and watery compared to most other sweet meads. Finish is light, smooth and a nice crisp honey aftertaste. A solid sweet mead but lighter than most I’ve tried. It’s time for the summer Renaissance Fairs. So break open the Mead and toast for the downfall of your favorite foe!
