75cl bottle shared with Haddonsman in Reading. Pale gold, honey, sweet nougat aroma. Nicely sweet, but some sourness on end. Bit of nail varnish. Bit naive, but drinkable.

Pours with no head on a dull golden-yelow body. Strong medicinal aroma with lots of honey underneath. Strong sweet honey flavor with lots of alcohol. Medium thick body.

"Ugh Ugh this one i didn’t make it through, had to pour out the rest. Aroma was of clover and honey. Poured was tinted water. Flavor was honey and something. Very thin and i don’t think it should be for a mead. Awful"

Light golden colour. Aroma of honey with some woodyness. Vinous flavour with honey and some warming alcohol. Quite light bodied. Mead I suspect, is not a drink for me.

A crystal clear LIGHT gold color with no carbination (this was new to me) The aroma was dry white wine, honey, and wet cardboard. It tasted bland at forst then moved toward the aroma with the texture of a dry wine. After reading more about Meade and talking to people, I got a bad one. This is by far the worst liquid I have ever put into my body. Tart, old, stale tasting and tart like mold can be (some of you know what I’m talking about) I won’t let this be my only reflection on meade though, I have not given up yet.

From Jan 06 Indy rating. Thanks to HotStuff and theDM. The second of two meads from the night and I liked this one a little more (than Chaucers Mead). Very pale apple juice with no head. The aroma has an expected honey and a nice alcohol tone. The flavor is really more alcohol up front before the honey character, but then a nice white wine taste and alcohol pinch comes in and provides a nice finishing warmth.

Christmas Mead packaging. Medium gold. Initial serve was lightly chilled, allowed to come up to room temperature during the tasting. Smelled like honey with a good dose of beeswax, sort of like if you buy a jar of honey that has the honeycomb in it as well. Flavor was of sweet honey slightly watered down, a bit of wax, and a touch of muscat grape. As it warmed, the grape note faded and the waxiness became distracting. Next tried mulled with spices. Honey, notes of cinammon and clove from the spice pack, and the waxiness was thankfully masked. Te alcohol reared its head when it was warm as well. As it cooled, the waxiness reappeared. Not horrible, but not as good as others I’ve had. Body was a bit thin as well.

this is the first mead i tried...nice clean yellow color, pleasantly sweet honey taste, warm. I did not try the spices, need to try chilled, and then again warmed.
