aarossell (151), Grandville, Michigan, USA Oct 21, 2006 Updated: Dec 6, 2006Ok....rating mead without knowing mead is dumb. Take for example crazyvin below. Aromatic traits seemed to bleed through on the flavor?? Isn’t that supposed to happen? Is your nose not responsible for 90 percent of "taste"?
Anyway...this is an excellent traditional mead. That being a drink made with ONLY honey, water, yeast.
Wonderfully present honey aroma and flavor, and warm alcoholic sting. You can tell it was sweetened with honey before bottling.
....That’s what you get with high gravity and low ingredient.
This is so far one of the best traditional meads I’ve had. Smooth, honey-like, tasty. UncleBertie (3), England does not count Oct 27, 2004 LURGASHALL ENGLISH MEAD 75cl

We love mead... and its honey properties
We buy it online from http://www.dinkydrinks.co.uk sliffy (1966), Columbus, Ohio, USA Dec 15, 2006 Bottle shared by mikemac: Clear gold in color. Aroma of honey, some wheat. Flavor, thick honey flavor, some spice to it, maybe a bit floral. Really sweet. My first mead, and I think I need to try more because I loved this stuff. flowerysong (25), USA Aug 23, 2007 Presentation: Clear half-bottle, olde tyme-y label. Pours a clear light gold. 12.5% ABV.
Nose: Rich honey, some earthy tones. A hint of leaf tobacco, and overtones of peach.
Taste: Some dryness upfront, background of earthiness throughout. Nicely complex honey character, with the medium sweetness gradually coming to the front. Floral peach tones from the nose come through in the middle. Finish is sweet but not cloying, and slightly reminiscent of leather.
Overall: Very nice mead. The complexity balances the sweetness quite well. Barrios (852), Nashville, Tennessee, USA Jul 31, 2009 This was nice. Aromas and flavors of honeysuckle, apple, violet, and rose. LtJudge (431), Muskego, Wisconsin, USA Dec 19, 2005 My first mead rating.Nice golden yellow color, with a sweet honey aroma.Has a big honey taste followed by a slight alcohol aftertaste.(did not add spices). Was surprised that there wasnt more of a alcohol taste due to its 12.5%..very good! Pailhead (2572), Allen Park, Michigan, USA Nov 17, 2004 Bottle: Strong alcohol aroma. Almost rubbing alcohol with some honey. Pale transparent yellow with no head. Real nice honey falvor with a warming alcohol finish. Apple and white wine flavors as well. Even though the smell is strong alcohol, the alcohol in the flavor is balanced very well. bgburdman9 (822), Columbus, Ohio, USA Jan 7, 2007 Bottle shared by mikemac at oak cafe. This was my first mead and this seemed pretty impressive to me for only being a 3.02. Aroma was a little white winish and also some sweetness and honey. Very good palate. Sweet but still pretty light but the alcohol was covered pretty well.
