3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Benzai (4344) - Oirschot, NETHERLANDS - MAR 20, 2013
Bottle @ home. Slightly unclear rusty orange to red color, small off-white to beige head that diminishes quickly. Smell malts, caramel. Taste malts, caramel, toast, nuts, slightly bitter, lightly sweet. Fizzy carbonation in the beginning. After a while it settles though and becomes decent. Ok beer.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 vickey9 (302) - Brussels, BELGIUM - JAN 26, 2013
Hazzy reddish-dark, cloudy, with a big white head. Fruity and chicory nose. Medium body, correct carbon. Some caramel, ripe fruits, mild yeast and wheat palate. Bitter aftertaste. An interestink dark wheetbeer. B@H
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 77ships (2156) - Antwerpen, BELGIUM - NOV 13, 2012
2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 n0mel (250) - FINLAND - OCT 13, 2012
(From notes 7 Oct, 2012) Bottle. The only dark wheat beer at the event (Modeste Bierfestival 2012), but I’m sad to say my notes only say "crap" for Lustem. In other words, not good, but certainly not horribly terrible.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 txspartan (878) - Wilrijk, BELGIUM - OCT 6, 2012
Bit of a sweet aroma. Head lasts a while. Decent carbonation. Bit of metal. Malty. Some enjoyable smokeyness.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 kraddel (845) - deurne, BELGIUM - AUG 8, 2012
bottle @ home from wijnegemse drankenhal .
first time i ever drank this type of beer, according to the label onley a small amount was made ( but enough to be a lot for such a small brewerie )
colour is truley the nicest i’ve ever seen. red-brown , clear and dark, all at once.. very very nice. foam is normal.
taste : well, as i’ve had the ’ pleasure’ so many times before, way to carbonated. this realy destroys the taste and about 80 % of these ’ unknown specials’ have it. sux... but i do taste some fruits, but not to much. niceley done, totaly if you think about how small the brewerie must be. i’d say go on this way, but i beg you, fix the carbonation problem, all of you !
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 sebletitje (5416) - Enghien, BELGIUM - MAR 1, 2012
bouteille 33cl, gusher.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Leighton (6945) - London, ENGLAND - JUN 30, 2011
Bottle at home in London with Lyoli. Pours reddish-gold, cloudy, with a big white head. Bit of a gusher. Sugary nose, some hints of fruit. Flavor is so so, plenty of sugar, caramel, ripe fruits, mild yeast and wheat, subtle alcohol and earthy bitterness. Medium bodied with average to lively carbonation. Warming finish, some toast and dark sugar, mild bitterness. An alright beer, nothing special.
2.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 jtclockwork (5096) - , New Jersey, USA - JUN 11, 2011
Bottle. Pours light caramel. No head. Nose/taste of wheat, sweet caramel and candied fruit. Taste has a bit of a gummy bear flavor to it. Flat and uninteresting. Very light body.
1.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20 suprchunk (1393) - Heinsberg, GERMANY - APR 15, 2011
Ginormous head. One-fifth beer:four-fifths head. Dark amber base with a huge-bubbled creamy tan head. Plenty of lacing that looks like egg whites stuck to the side of the glass. A bit of a homebrewed off smell. Sugary, alcohol and watered down malts. Same with the taste except way more alcohol. Sticky sweet mouthfeel with a huge heat from the alcohol. Not very well received I have to say.
