Volle body. Goed!

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
0.33 bottle. Very dark brown color and a small, off white head. Aroma of driftwood, dark malts, delicate hops, roast, a touch of candied sugar, and a hint of chocolate coffee. Taste is very malty; the first thing one notices is loads of dark chocolate, wood, and coffee. Later on come some fruitiness and herbs. Full body, creamy texture, and soft carbonation although the beer tends to foam in one’s mouth. Overall a really pleasant beer, could be improved though.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
This is a veeeeery good beer. The first landing on your tongue is dry. Hoppy and chocolaty bitter. Very soon, the fruity notes of orange peel flows in, making you think of one of these delicious Côte d’Or dark chocolates with orange. A wonderful combination. The brewers themselves mark on the bottle that a banana taste should appear at one moment - but unfortunetely it didn’t make it’s appearance in my mouth. Or let say fortunately as the taste didn’t need a banana. The after taste is heavy, sticks in your mouth as if you’ve just sucked a licorice drop. This is why I love Quadrupel’s - as they last in your mouth and you can enjoy even without sipping!
It’s a wonderful Quadrupel to be enjoyed on a cold winter evening in front of your chimney. (Yes, I tasted it in summer - but I have a lot of imagination ;-))

dark brown color with a yellow brownish creamy head. nose: dark malts, yeast, earthy spices, hints of chocolate. taste: malts, yeast, bit hoppy, chocolate, moccha. MF: hop bitterness, very complex. bitter and dry. alcohol is very warming. combination between hop, yeast, dark malts, chocolate. Okey beer. nice quadrupel. but still missing something here. smooth to almost even body. low on carbonation, gives it a gentle warming character.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
0.33L bottle. Pours clear dark mahoganry with a small tan head. Aromas are fairly mild, but nice malt: cinammon, chocolate, roasty malt. Flavor is medium sweet, with lots of bready malt, cinammon and bitter chocolate. Middle goes to roast malt, then finishes with a long, herby and resiny hop and roasted malt. finish with lingerin alcohol. Full body with a thick mouthfeel and average carbonation. Overall, decent enough, but not fantastic. Some nice flavors and aromas, and balances off the malt well.
