Botella de 500ml. Copa Pokal. Color dorado y cristalino. 500ml bottle. Pokal glass. Golden color, crystal appearance. White froth, lively & poor crown. Caramelized aromas, hints of citric, sugary notes & slight sweet buttery on the back with some phenol hues. Grainy & sweetish upfront. Medium body. Moderately high carbonation. Oily but sparkling mouthfeel. Slight herbal notes arise in the middle & provide harsh bitterness that linger into a sweet finish. Smooth drinkability, probably corn as adjunct.

From a 17 oz bottle, smell is not too offensive. Looks like any other pale lager. Streaming co2 in the glass. Yes, initially quite strong but not as rude as I thought it would be. During the session I do notice it could be a little better behaved. Becomes a tad volatile at times. Not as bad as most strong cheap American ’ice’ lagers. Decent co2 keeps it from humiliating my taste buds. Surprizingly, does not initiate the gag reflex like so many other beers like this eastern euro genre.

Bottle. Clear golden with a bubbly white head. Aroma of grains, honey, a bit of hay and some alcohol notes. Sickly sweet flavor, honey-ish, grainy, kinda alcoholic with a slightly metallic alcoholic finish. Light to medium-bodied. Too sweet and alcoholic, pretty unpleasant.

Brighton Bazaar, Brooklyn 50cl ($1.79): Pours orange-gold with small white head. Aroma is grain, sugar, and booze. Taste is sweet, but not too much. The malt liquor taste is not too strong in this one, which is a big plus. I was expecting much worse, but Lvivske surprised with this one.

The corn sweetness in this beer is overwhelming and its almost undrinkable. Light straw colored, huge head.

Dark golden colour and a thick rocky head. The aroma is malt-accented with a touch of alcohol. Fairly malty and clean with alcohol and maybe a touch of sweetness in the finish. Good example, actually.

05/05 0.5 l bottle ogivlado brought from Bratislava, thanks for sharing! It poured golden body with bigger head. Typical aroma, grain, hay, touch of lemon hops. Flavor is quite the same, lemony, more acidic than bitter, slightly sweet flowery. Not much here, but strong enough to bring those flavors to the front. Medium in body with long sweetish and slightly acidic finish. Alcohol is present in the finish, but I would say nicely hidden. Nothing special, but okay for the style, drinkable and better than many.
