tytoanderso (1152), St. Louis Park, Minnesota, USA May 10, 2008 500ml bottle. A rich, deep brown pour with dark maroon undertones below a fairly rich and thick light khaki head. Aroma consists of roasted marshmallow, milk chocolate, lightly charred malt, a touch of green pepper and alcohol. Bitter chocolate and roasted chocolate malt on the tongue. Faint notes of vanilla and toasted nuts. Some molasses and bitter coffee grounds. Medium bodied, and almost a silky texture. A fine example of the style for sure. Thanks Eugene!
Eructoblaster (1232), Gatineau, Quebec, Canada Jul 10, 2008 Bottle - 500ml. Dark brown body with good beige frothy head. Decent malty/hoppy aroma with brown sugar hints. Well balanced taste carries sweet and plummy notes. Ends with a good warming finish. Enjoyable, especially after a long series of bad, tasteless East European Lagers. nuplastikk (381), Maryland, USA Jul 9, 2008 500ml bottle. Deep toffee brown-amber color. Aroma is mild and a little sweet. The taste is anything but mild, being an all out sugary malty overload. Has some nice bock-like sweet characteristics that are quite enjoyable, but I am heavily suspicious of the adjunctitude. I am quote fond of Eastern European Porter, and would recommend this one to those who also enjoy the style. Not the best by any means, but a cool beer. Slipstream (315), USA May 19, 2008 The brew is as black as the Black Sea, and it sports a big fluffy head. The aroma is sweet and hoppy - nice! I enjoy just sniffing it. There is a rich, roasty, porter flavor - coffee, chocolate, and peppy hops. This 4 pointer is as good as American microbrew porters, and it sells for half the price. I went out and got more the very next day. This grandson of Lviv is proud to say that he at last has found a superior beer from Ukraina. Bottle 500 ml, brown
Nearly black body, head is nice caramel-brown colour, seems strong and essential but eventually comes flat, flavour is coffee, roastiness, burned sugar, toasted bread. The previous time I drank it, the dominant taste was an egg. Now it is probably younger brew and no trace of egg what so ever. Leaves a strange bitterness afterwards but the taste is decent, round and full, full-bodied,
