2 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 conor23 (110) - Elgin, Illinois, USA - JAN 27, 2007
Very odd aroma, slight bitterness, malty flavor. Not great but not bad either.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 daniel0017 (329) - Yukon, CANADA - JAN 2, 2007
I can’t believe the low ratings on this beer! Faint foral aroma with hops and barley. Gorgeous hazy pale amber body with nice effervescence. Thick, frothy white head that left copious lacing. The flavor was very pleasant: Started off with sweet barley malt and fruit but ended up with a nice dry hoppy finish. The alcohol bite seems a little bit stronger than 5.2%, leaving a warm feeling. The palate is warm and rich. Very good beer that I would have any time.

Bottle from a London off-licence. Firm head, golden beer. Soft and round, without any outstanding character.

bottle: Poured a pale cloudy yellow colour with virtually no head. Not offensive but nothing special.....some hoppy aroma.....little else going on.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 KingofCastle (202) - London, Ontario, CANADA - DEC 5, 2006
500 mL bottle: Another great pale lager roasted by beer snobs. Come on! Not as good as Svytury’s Ekstra (Lithuanian) but still decent. Tastes more crisp. Hops not strong, malt is little stronger but very clean in mouthfeel & finish. This is a really smooth beer. My pint almost disappeared! Drink it fast (or pretty much dead after 20 min) and in hot weather or washing down those salty chasers.

50cl bottle, Shelburne. Surprisingly cloudy for the style, very little head. Smells similar to low quality american lager - corn/rice. Very thin in the mouth, very little carbonation, sour (not bitter) with a lingering sourness. Not great.
2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 mansquito (2569) - Nueva York, New York, USA - NOV 1, 2006
I kind of like this beer, but I’m Ukrainian, so I might be biased. It is a relatively light beer with a little bitter flavor. Not really big on the palate thing. Clear body, one complaint I have though is that it goes flat far too fast. 15 minutes later you will have a completely and worse beer. Drink it quick.
1.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 TheJester (1490) - Peterborough, Ontario, CANADA - SEP 27, 2006
Smells like . . . not good. Hay and mildew. Hay with mildew on it. Quite pale in colour. Voluminous head. Not a lot of taste - Pale lager, so I guess it’s not supposed to. Malt is the most obvious flavour. Corn? Didn’t get much bitterness. Not offensive, but nothing special. Better than most macro pale lagers, I suppose.
2.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Diogène (1055) - Mirabel, Quebec, CANADA - SEP 25, 2006
UPDATED: MAY 27, 2009 Bottle from LCBO. Clear pale blond with a huge white head. Aroma is malty and grassy. Tastee is well malted, with grassy notes and a slight bitter aftertaste. Wel balanced.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 larsga (5364) - Oslo, NORWAY - SEP 16, 2006
Small white head; pale yellow body with some ongoing carbonation. Grainy, smoky aroma. Taste is deep smoky grain with strong grassy notes, quite bitter. Harmonic, with fruity, citric notes. Chalky, bitter aftertaste. Quite a lot of taste, but still light, drinkable and refreshing. Good! (0.5l bottle.)
