BlackHaddock (3479) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - APR 22, 2012
Sunday evening: 22 Apr 2012. 500ml brown bottle out of date by a year: Poured into a vase shaped ’Old Speckled Hen’ badged glass (at home). Pale golden body almost lager clear: on top a full and deep white crown of foam. Boadicea and Pilot hops give the aroma a mild peppery feel that just over-shaddows the malted barley and wheat smells. The taste is a refreshingly pleasant blend of the above ingrediants: this is a well balanced brew that I really enjoyed. Full bodied for an English Pale Ale, a tasty beer that went very nicely with my mini Pork Pie.

Leighton (10419) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - MAR 25, 2012
Cask at Hamilton Hall, JDW, London. Pours clear gold with a fine foam head. Zesty citrus and straw in the nose. Light to medium sweet flavor with sticky lemon, dry straw and hay, and some light dough. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Medium sweet and dry finish, with lightly earthy and lasting bitterness. A very classic golden ale.

Bottle. Pale amber beer with a strongish head. The aroma is lightly hopped and toffee, and the flavour is fairly deeply toffee and bitter with a long finish. Overall a competent bitter. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Citrusy and lemony but tasty. Has a kind of rank undercurrent - like a mice drink in a bad pub ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Good ale, from what little I remember. Amber coloured in the Waterhouse Spoons in Manchester in July 2011, citrus nose, citrus taste, nice drinkable ale, nothing outstanding though

Pours a clear and pale yellow with a nice white head which quickly disappears. Hint of citrus on the nose. Fresh tasting with citrus and hop finish.

Cask/gravity at the 2011 Ealing beer festival. Dark gold with a coarse white head, lots of hops and a hint of orange on the nose, then the body brings gingery and peppery hops with biscuity notes and a long dry-bitter finish. Tasty.

[cask at Cloisters, Edinburgh] Slightly hazy yellowish gold colour, some citrus and grass on the nose. Flavours of fruity hop with a touch of bittersweet honey and lemon about it. Bitter finish. Not great, but not bad either [01042011]

Cask-conditioned at the Staffordshire Beer festival, Seven Stars, Bristol 6/10/10. Amber coloured with a slight, off-white head. Fruity malts, some cereal flavours and citrus hops, before a dry finish. Good.
