We’ll set aside the fact that Christmas beers should by law be dark and 6%+; this was golden and clear with a thin white head; pale/lager malt initially then a burst of pudding fruit fruitiness then a bitter hoppy finish; no ordinary Christmas beer, but good all the same; in perfect condition in the Lymestone Vaults, Newcastle-under-Lyme.

imdownthepub (10460) - Banbury, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - DEC 20, 2012
Cask conditioned at a Wetherspoons. Gold with white, lacing, head. Quite a light beer, there didn’t seem to be anything ’Christmassy’ about this at all, reasonably dry and bitter with a light floral note, some fruity malt notes. Easy enough on the palate, just run of the mill.
