Cask; Regular.
From the very first draught, this pale hoppy ale will slake your thirst. A fusion of Maris Otter malts and Pilot and Fuggles hops explode on the palate as biscuit and juicy fruit flavours give way to citrus and berry hops, good hop aroma and hoppy after taste. A superb summer beer.

Nice golden pale ale, start with a strong hoppy taste that fades quickly gives way to a nice citrus taste, good thirst quencher and not too strong.

Fat. Guldfärgad med vitt skum. Svag arom av gräs och maltsötma. Smakar bättre, men det är alltjämt rätt klent. Maltsötman är dock trevlig, Hittar smaker av lime, gräs och smörkex.

Hand-pulled pint in my local Wetherspoons on 4th July 2012. Golden body with a full white head that left some good heavy lacing on my UK pint sleeve glass as the beer level fell. The beer is a dry hoppy brew: the nose being both grainy and semi-citrus hoppy, the taste left the grains behind in the smell and allowed the hops to take over completely, the flavour became bitter and drier as the pint sank. I’m a sweeter, maltier chap so this didn’t do it for me.

Cask at JDW. Pale gold with a soapy head. Nose is light and floral, with hints of lemon pie and fresh apples. Faintly bready underneath the fruit. Then things take a sour turn, literally. Too much acidic vinegar in the taste, making it tough to empty the glass. Might’ve been the condition at fault. A shame really as this had some positive elements.

Tasted this in the Esquire House, Glasgow (JDW) in September 2010. Cask, handpump dispense. Crystal clear pale straw in colour with a thin white head. Flaked maize present in the short aroma. Thin mouthfeel and good lacing. Pale malts deliver a digestive biscuit base with tart grapefruit rind present. Strong hop resins give a long astringency with lemony hops present in the long aftertaste. Finish is really dry and flinty with hop resins ramping up the astringency to mouth puckering levels. Too bitter for my tastes but ok as a one off summer session.
