You can Count on this rich, dark, imperial stout having enough bite for anyone looking to satisfy their thirst. Coffee, burnt toast and bitter fruits dominate whilst Styrian Goldings slowly seduce the palate.

Bottle , Ship & Mitre bottle shop, West Kirby. Black pour with a fading light brown head. Sweetish nose of dark choc alongside some roast. Fullish mouthfeel, leading to a flavour of dark fruits, burnt malts and a little smoke. Some bitterness towards the finish. Nice one.

Bottle from the distributor (Best of Midlands). Dark toasted smell with dark chocolate, coffee and roasted bread. Similar taste with a touch of caramel. Rounded flavours and easy to drink. Low carbonation. Nice beer, not really an imperial stout though as the sticker says but nothing I put into the score.

Flaska 500 ml (Best of Midlands - Winter edition. Från Systembolaget). Mörka toner, chocklad och kaffe i aromen. Bra balans i smaken, del besk. Kroppen är fantastiskt bra för ABVn.

Flaska 500 ml (Best of Midlands - Winter edition.

Cask at the Wellington, Birmingham. Really pleasant. Viscous, leathery stout. Gently warming. Balanced, light, but earthy. Some oil.

500cl bottle shared in a Leffe glass. Pours black with a light beige coloured head which last longer than most. Aroma is quite powerful with dark fruit notes hitting first. Taste is more of the same with quite a sour black cherry note to it which compliments the richness of the other flavours. Really quite complex with the amount of flavours however, less balanced than the Belgian/American counterparts. Mouthfeel is really very god particularly considering the ABV is "only" 6.66% - which in IMperial Stout terms is about as low as I have tried. One of the better English beers I have tried.

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines, Birmingham. Poured a deep mahogany with a thin tan head. The aroma is roasted malt, creamy chocolate, coffee, liqourice. The flavour is medium bitter with a spicy hop pepper liqourice palate. Medium to full bodied with average carbonation. Really liked this.

Bottle @ The Train Tasting Pt II. Hilariously garish bottle. Nice one, Lymestone. The pour’s brown with a small head. Strong earthy roast coffee on the nose. Quite ashy indeed. The taste is pain au chocolate. Dark chocolate bitterness. Rich roast coffee finish. Moderate heat on it considering the ABV. Medium body, moderate carb. Overall, actually better than I was expecting. A nice beer. Good coffee notes.
