Cask gravity at Kent BF 2010. Oddly fruity dark beer, like AndrewC I thought this was more a mild than anything else, but certainly enjoyable

Cask. Pours a hazy dark brown with an orange hue and a small off-white head. Roasted malt and nuts in the nose. Light body, almost flat, roasted malt, nuts and sweet coffee. Hardly any bitterness. I would call this a Porter. 200110

Bottle, Bottle Stop, Cheadle Hulme. Poured a red tinged very dark brown colour with a smallish tan head. Sweet, fruity, candyish aroma with some roasty notes. Flavour had a definite smokiness, with dark fruits and roasted malt in attendance .Some hop bitterness also. Plenty happening in all areas here. An enjoyable and tasty brew.

Cask at Wellington Arms, Bedford. Dark brown with a small off white head. Ashy log fire aroma. Sweet, thick leathery taste with dates and prunes, thick, rich... I almost want to say meaty, like a cup of Bovril. Mid bitter finish. Full of character. Almost like a Hopshackle beer.

Cask (handpump) at the Great British Beer Festival Day 2, August 2009. Quite dark red colour. Very roasty. Some smoky notes A little caramel but remains quite dry. Made a change from all the golden ales but didn’t really grab my attention. Not bad though.

A Mes rate. Bottle from the Bottle Stop in Bramhall. Red amber with a very faint oily head. Very pleasant dark fruit and chocolate aroma. The flavour is pretty decent too. Good earthy malt with just a touch of chocolate and a very clean bitter and citric kick. Long mineral notes in the finish. Interesting, very well balanced and pretty decent.

Cask @ GBBF 2009. Pours a brown color with small off-white head. Has a roasted malty caramel aroma. Roasted malty caramel flavor with some hoppy hints. Has a roasted malty caramel finish with a slightly bitter aftertaste.

Cask @ GBBF 09, Great British Beer Festival, Earls Court Exhibition Centre, London, England. Clear medium to dark brown color with a small to average, frothy, good - fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, caramel, nutty, moderate hoppy, grass. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a average to long duration, a peppery - alcoholic finish. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat, finish feel is light alcoholic. [20090805]

Some hop aroma. Mid brown coloured and fruity with a little dryness in a crisp and bitter malt finish.

Fruit and malt aromas. Mid brown coloured a little rich on the palate and strong in alcohol. A little bitterness in a fruity caramel malt finish.
3. Cask Handpump at Calverts Court JDW, Stockport 02/10/2010
Fruity aroma. Beige head. Dark coloured a little rich on the palate strong in alcohol and fruity with a hint of dryness in a bitter roast finish.
