Cask (handpump) at the Great British Beer Festival Day 2, August 2009. Quite dark red colour. Very roasty. Some smoky notes A little caramel but remains quite dry. Made a change from all the golden ales but didn’t really grab my attention. Not bad though.

A Mes rate. Bottle from the Bottle Stop in Bramhall.
Red amber with a very faint oily head. Very pleasant dark fruit and chocolate aroma. The flavour is pretty decent too. Good earthy malt with just a touch of chocolate and a very clean bitter and citric kick. Long mineral notes in the finish. Interesting, very well balanced and pretty decent.
