2.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 OleR (4247) - Oslo, NORWAY - JAN 3, 2007
I’m not so comfortable with the "Ice" style and thought that this "Double Ice" thing maybe ment "Double removal of aroma and flavor". Wrong. This is a decent lager; Clear pale golden, thin white head. Fruity aroma, mainly apples. Weak, but clean taste. Slight sweet malts with a light hopbitterness. Quite thin. Short, sourish finish.

Can at Hilde and Thomas’s house in Oslo. Enjoyable lager with sweet, fruity and malty taste. Drank it quite cold, so little taste.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 larsga (5325) - Oslo, NORWAY - FEB 16, 2006
Big white coarse-laced fast-shrinking head over light copper body with occasional carbonation. Clean, sweetish apple-like aroma with very faint notes of malt. Round, clean taste of very little with appleish notes; aftertaste is bitter. Well. It’s a successful ice beer, in that there is hardly any taste, and no off taste.
2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 yngwie (10760) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - FEB 15, 2006
Bottled. Clear, golden with a white head. Malty aroma with a light hoppy-fruity hint. Flavor is clean, light malty and with a little sweetness. Light bitterness in the finish. Quite thin body, but the beer goes well in warm summer-days. Unfortunately the beer is now only sold in cans, expect for to the restaurant-market. (060215)

Modern design bottle 30cl from a minibar at a Thon Hotel in Oslo. Hardly any taste at all. Why can’t they put at least one decent beer in the minibar? I’m glad the brewpub in Oslo (Mikrobryggeriet) with a new Winter Ale was only a minute walk from the hotel.

Another attempt to remove all flavour from the beer, and they have nearly succeeded. Lawnmover beer!

UPDATED: JUL 6, 2005 (Bottle 33 cl) The Norwegians seem to like their Ice" or "Summmer" beers and most of them are actually surprisingly nice. This "Lysholmer" has a very nice hoppy nose, a full golden colour but just about no head. Surprisingly full-bodied with some sweetness. Good. 260204
2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20 5000 (4974) - Hardened Liver, Washington, USA - MAR 9, 2005
Bottle pours a translucent pale golden, medium fizzly white head, spotty lacing, with lively carbonation. Very pale aroma, corn starch and straw on the nose. Lackluster flavor, very mild grass/hay, slightly astringent/metallic. Boring body, with the mouthfeel being slightly sticky. Flat finish, very bland... not much to mention. As Pale Lagers go, its certainly not really offensive, but its not really interesting either. Meh...

Bad. I don’t like the style. And I don’t like this one. It’s acid/sour in an unpleasant way. Maybe I therefore should appiciate that it’s short...and that the rest tastes water..? OK, there are some - even good - hops in the end.
