MoritzF (3690), Ruhrpott, Germany Dec 26, 2007 (swing top bottle) Clear, chestnut coloured effervescent hue with a big and persistent beige foamy head. Light-sweet toast-malty and nutty aroma with herbal hops, including a tinge of metal that fades quickly. Moderately sweet flavour with a light bitterness in the wings, light to medium bodied with a smooth carbonation. Toast-malty, nutty taste with caramel and herbal notes; dryish, sweet-bitter toasty finish with a noticeable hops-character and a lasting aftertaste of caramel/toffee. Pleasant. Ungstrup (11031), Frederiksberg, Denmark Aug 13, 2007 Draft. A chestnut colored beer with a lazing brown head. The aroma is sweet and very malty with quite strong notes of caramel and nuts. The flavor is sweet malty again with quite strong notes of nuts and caramel, leading to a dry and slightly roasted finish. Quite low level of residual sugar - and very fresh for the style. Papsoe (9980), Frederiksberg, Denmark Nov 17, 2006 (On tap) Beautiful, clear mahogany with a warm, reddish hue. Creamy, off-white head leaving some laces. Aroma of roasted malt. Medium body with very roasted malty accents - almost coffeeish. Dry, almost stout-like, with a light bitterness that seems to derive mainly from the dark malts. Nice indeed. 091106 pivnizub (3768), Porúří, Germany Jun 5, 2006 Tap at the Brewpub, May 2006: Very dark amber coloured, medium-sized off-white lacing head; sweet, toasted malty nose mixed with a herbal hoppiness; sweetish (roast-malty) flavour, light bodied; short, roast-malty, almost smoked finish. Well done.....
