3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Well, Hefeweizens are among my favourite beer styles due to their tradition, freshness and fruityness. The brewers of Maallust should spend some more holidays in Bavaria and Austria in order to finetune the Kolonist. Not that it’s a bad beer, no, but it misses a bit the main characteristics of this beer style. The very special yeast character, that makes these beer so unique, is missing. The beer is hoppier and the body lighter.
It’s definitely a good beer, but it’s not a typical Weizen. That might be interesting, but for me, a Weizenbeer lover, this isn’t the true thing.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Hazy golden with some orange hue and very big head. Cloves, dough, lots of different spices, some orange and apricot. Nice medium body with almost sticky feel. Maybe a bit too spicy for me, but overall a very decent weizen.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. Typical german weizen. Yeasty, with notes of wheat and some banana. Not bad, just a bit too much carbo.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
0,3 l bottle with a simple but good looking label art and a lot of information. Unclear and pale orange in the glass, relative small head. More yeast than citrus on the nose. Taste is herb caramell, yeast, wheat, banana and a little bit hop and some hints of clove. Mid carbonated. Not bad.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
00 ml bottle at home, poured into a small weizen glass, ABV 5%
Huge white head, most of what I poured was foam, slowly turning into a pale orange golden beer. Of course with a head that size retention is going to be good. Light lacing on the glass.
Aroma mostly of yeast and clove, along with some flower notes and sugar.
Taste is grainy, malty and sweet, some nuts too, less clove but still there. slighty medicinal.
Medium thin body, carbonation on the lower side.
Overall a mediocre one.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle from Bert’s Bierhuis. The beer has a hazy golden color and a nice white head, with a lot of bubbles. The aroma is fruity, with tones of citrus, bananas and some spice. The taste is light bitterness with also a light sourness, but refreshing after all. Tones of citrus, yeast, wheat and some spices. The finish is fresh and a little bitter. Nice, but pretty standard and a little watery in my opinion.
