Delirium (422), Santa Cruz, California, USA Aug 16, 2006 Draught. Pours unfiltered orange-brown with a medium white head. Aroma is a light honey sweetness with a malt backbone and a hint of crisp hops. Flavor is similar but with a bit more of the hops. Light bitterness. A pretty unique amber ale; sort of a cross between a typical amber ale and an American pale ale. A bit of a ratings bonus for originality.
Biddle_Brau (128), Midland Park, New Jersey, USA Aug 21, 2008 Cloudy amber with nice lacing. No noticable aroma. Mild hop and caramel malt flavor. Bitterness is low.
buzzoven (93), Japan Aug 15, 2008 On tap at Rose City Cafe and Wine Bar, Portland Airport. This is an attractive beer...a copper hazy glow with a dark brown inner core of malted softness. Slight smell of muted cinnamon and clove. Taste starts off with a robust malty wave followed by a balanced copper taste and finishes with a subtle, but memorable smooth bitterness. Somehow, this brew manages to avoid the "ropey" taste that hinders me from drinking more ambers. Undoubtedly the best amber ale I have ever had...it will probably be a long time until I get to drink more of this; but this is a beer that I will remember. Excellent stuff! anders37 (2563), Malmö, Sweden Aug 15, 2008 Draught @ WABF 2008. Pours a slightly hazy orange amber color with a small off-white head. Malty caramel aroma with some hoppy hints. Fruity malty caramel flavor with nice hoppy grapefruit hints. Sweetish malty hoppy finish. gotohelunc (347), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA Aug 12, 2008 Draft everywhere I went in Seattle. Lightly cloudy, dark brown color. Malty nose with lots of dough and roasted sugars. Flavors of brown sugar, biscuits, and a touch of tobacco. Not overly strong, but nicely balanced and a very creamy, smooth finish. Warms the throat and stomach. Really awesome amber and an easy go-to when in Seattle. KAggie97 (1884), Ugly, Hot, and Humid Spring, Texas, USA Aug 3, 2008 Handpull at Whiskey Creek, Keyport, WA. Pours a thick orange amber, like a melted sunset in your glass. A subtle blend of hops and sweet biscuit eminate from the brew. Flavor is a malty grapefruit with a floral finish. Nice, lingering mouthfeel. Pleasant and light; perfect with fish and chips midway through sailing around Bainbridge Island.
