On tap at Brewforia in Meeidian, I’D. Deep rich brown with a small light tan dense head. Lightly roasted and faint chocolate aroma. Slight roasted flavor and a faint slightly sweet brown paper bag note. A little on the sweet side and almost completely lacking that sour porter characteristic.
Undercarvonated, even a bit for the style. Easy to drink. Not very interesting. A Porter for the masses.

Pours black with a reddish tinge. The flavor has chocolate and berries. Drinkable porter.

Pours a deep black with somewhat ruby edges. Light aroma of roasted malt. Flavor is deep roasted malt ad well and a bit of light smoke. Light body but okay. Nice flavor finish. Decent.

pours a jet black with an off-white head, and great lacing.
smell of cocoa, some coffee, and a touch of vanilla.
taste is creamy, bakers chocolate, sour malt, and some coffee, ends dry and slightly bitter.

On tap at the Seatac airport. Pours black with a creamy but ice-chunky light tan head. Has a strong coffee roasted aroma with a leopard print lacing pattern. Very dry roasted flavor with a dark chocolate bitterness. This tastes much more like a dry stout than like a porter. It’s an ok beer but not great.

Tap... Poured deep, dark brown with a light, brown head. Malt aroma, no roastiness to the brew. Subtle, soft palate. Malty and chocolaty with a low bitterness. Easy drinking but nothing much going for it.

Second review on this beer yet from a different supplier. Pours a dark black, with ruby highlights, minimal head. Tastes of roast malt, light acridness, and a fruity estery note. Very little to no roast character although the dark color would suggest it. Definite presence of citrusy hops, slightly sour/acidic finish. Still nothing great about this porter...although I have raised my rating to a 2.4

A very difficult drinking porter. What do I mean? Exactly how it sounds...for a robust porter there’s a definite absence of roast or bittersweet flavors. Instead I get an almost rotten and spoiled vegetable aroma and aftertaste, a thin mouthfeel almost acidic in its over-carbonated and thin-bodied state. How unfortunate because I must visit this porter again at a different location to see if it’s the beer or the lines.

An absolutely terrible soapy brettanomyces type aroma. Awful sour milk too. The flavor, however, is much better than the aroma, but still only okay. A little weight, but relatively balanced, just a ho-hum porter in flavor.

On tap at Taphouse. M&J is known primarily for their African Amber, which is the beer that people in the Seattle area mean when they say "Mac and Jack’s." Although Black Cat was a decent porter, it doesn’t hold the same wow factor. It pours a black black with no head to speak of . Aromas are standard for a porter, caramel and some chocolate with a bit of roasted malt. Flavors of toasted malt, oak, pepper, and a faint hint of chocolate.
