3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Sample at brewery. Aroma of cheese/mushroom, it’s hard to explain, but it’s kind of basementy/earthy, I would assume it’s the yeast. Also in the aroma is dark fruit and leather. Taste is super sweet, lots of fig, date, cherry, plum, caramel. This could use some more hop additions at all times. Medium thick body, kind of syrupy and sticky sweet.

On tap for Hard Liver ’12, pours an opaque dark mahogany with a small beige head. Aroma of hazelnuts, wood, dark fruits and toasted bread. Flavour of toasted nuts, dark fruits, bready malts and low sweetness. Medium-to-high bodied - well-balanced.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bremerton Summer Brewfest – Bremerton, WA
Dark amber in color, clear with no head. Thick malt and alcohol aroma. Malty sweet in flavor, nice spices added that have pepper and light clove flavors. Light fruit and good floral hops presence in this brew. This is going to be great during the cold months.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Dark copper pour, short white head. Brown sugar, dried fruit, currant, a little booziness on the aroma with some hops. Moderately heavy viscous body with dark toffee, more currants and dried fruit notes, a touch of sweaty leatheriness, roasty graininess, and fairly strong hops on the finish, balancing things out with a little bitterness. Alcohol is there on the finish as well but not overly noticable for the percentage. Not bad at all.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Nose has nice dark fruit notes, earthy floral hops, brown sugar, but not overly cloying or sweet. Definitely on the american side of the aroma with a pronounced hoppy presence. The pour is dark reddish with an off white head. Nice lasting foam. The flavor has good dark fruit notes, a touch of roast, big floral and earthy hops. Nice dryness from the hops adds balance. Lingering dry peppery bitterness. Alcohol doesn’t show. Was told it was 10% by the dude in the taproom. Solid. Will need to revisit.
