Im a bit suspicious of this one because it was noticeably hoppy and of the same hop profile as the african amber and poured from the same tap that usually pour the amber ale. Coincidence or not it was quite delicious. Light body, creamy, and refreshing. The hoppiness keeps it interesting, if it is legit.

On tap. Pours a cloudy yellow with almost no head. Aroma of citrus and wheat. Flavor is sweet and wheaty; pretty smooth. Decent but not spectacular.

Draft at elliott bay pizza. Pours a murky medium amber with a densely fizzy white head and loose drippy lace. Big crisp brown bread wheat nose. Creamy medium body with lively carb. Beautiful nutty brown multi grain bread mid palate. Satisfying nutty finish. Sentimental favorite among wheats for me.

Down the hatch at the African Lounge is Sea Tac airport. Hazy yellow pour with a decent sized head. Malty aroma. Taste is kind of thin, with hints of banana, grass and wheat. One to drink when you don’t want to fill up on a big beer.

Mac & Jack’s Brewery 2011 Serengeti Wheat. 4 oz. Taster @ Fremont, Seattle Hop Scotch Beer & Scotch Festival on 4/1/2011. 4.70% ABV. 25 IBU’s. Mild lace white head. Opaque cloudy creamy orange color. Mild fruit ester hop front. Fruity dry sweet slightly creamy strawberry fruit wheat body. Dry clean refreshing end. Odd hefe flavor. Not quite NW with some Bavarian hints and rich fruity notes. I was disappointed in this beer thinking it would be more like a hefe..i was wrong. I gave it a chace on 3 occassions but doesn’t satisfy the palate.

Typical wheat beer that was very cloudy yellow. Served with some lemons and had a hint of coriander. Decent.

Draft @ Flying Pie, Boise, ID. Pours a hazy pale orange color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity wheat malty yeasty banana aroma with some hints of citrus. Fruity wheat malty yeasty spicy banana flavor. Has a sweetish wheat malty spicy finish.

On tap at SeaTac pouring up totally opaque dirty grapefruit – orange juice mix with micro thin white head. It has a pleasing aroma that seems to have sweet citrus mixing with smooth mild sweet smelling banana wheat notes and some grainy malts. First sip, man they serve these beers cold. Thankfully I mitigated the issue by refusing the chilled glass. Nice flavor once it got a bit above freezing slowly giving up malts, assertive graininess, a sort of wort sensation and then rolling toward banana and bubble gum. I also get a thin layer of lemon peaking through every now and then.
