(translated) Ludwig Bayer has since 1878 been in Mack’s portfolio, and is a beer type that originates from Bayern in Germany. With considerable elements of dark malt types Ludwig Bayer is our darkest beer with a delightful dark color. This is a copious beer with a fine sweetness. With a mild element of hops Ludwig Bayer gets a light bitterness in the end. Enjoy this beer by 8 - 10 degrees C, preferably from a glass. Ludwig Bayer can be enjoyed with medium strong meat dishes or as a thirst extinguisher with good friends.

Editor’s note: Formerly known as Mack Ludwig Premium Bayer

500 ml on tap @ "Ųlhallen" Mack Bryggeri September 25, 2013 Brown/copper in color with a beige head. Nice malty aroma. A bit sweet in a positive way. A bit short aftertaste probably, because it is less than 5 % alcohol. The finish is slightly bitter.

Kastanjanruskea kirkas. Selvästi kevyesti paahteista mallasta, kirpeää tuoksu. Maku vetinen mutta mukavan maltainen ja vähän pähkinäinen.

Caramel, dried fruits and wort in the aroma. Deep copper body with a tan head. Medium sweet and light bitterness. Light body with a average carbonation. Overall a OK Bayer, but nothing more.

Tick from 7/30/2012. Was delivered freshly from Norway alongside all other pale lager. Quite far away from dunkel. Average and drinkable when cold.

50cl can from Meny Bjųlsen. Pours clear copper with a small, off-white head. Malty aroma with notes of dried fruits, caramel and hints of roast and hops. Fairly sweet and malty with just a light bitterness in the finish. Too sweet for my taste, but fair enough.

hort brownish head with malt and wheat aromas. Clear copper body with some metallic taste. Overall decent but probably difficult to have a second one of the same type.

Bu en bouteille de 33cl, une couleur ambrée peu marquée et pas de mousse, grosse odeur de pomme verte, en bouche les notes grillées nous attaquent avec une amertume en fin de bouche. Merci ą Will !

Nice apperance, amber towards caramel. Malty aroma, a little too anonymous compared to the nice apperance. Taste is well balanced with nice hints of caramel, though the finish is a little too abrupt. In total an above average bayer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPad
