COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The darkest and heaviest of Mack's beers. Goes well with hot cheese dishes and heavy foods. Excellent with desserts.

33 cl bottle. No yeast at the bottom. Reddish brown colour with a weak head. Sweet caramel aroma with notes of malt and hints of sourness. Very tasty flavour of sweet malt, caramel and with a dusty finish. Ends up sweet and alcoholic.

Smells of aromatic hops. More of a bitter finish than most Norwegian bocks - a better beer. Fine flavour from the hops, reminds me of a fine English bitter!

Bottled. Thanks Roger Furseth. Okay, this is not at all a flawless beer but it has character. Just like some breweries, it suffers from bad environment. Dark copper colour it is, the head is big and light brown. Aroma is very buttery, on the edge of being harsh but I enjoy it. Flavour is wonderfully soft malty, there is a gentle touch of roastiness/licorice and also chocolate. A bit on the sweet side perhaps but here it just adds to the flavour. Long finish.

Bottle 0,33l. Clear ruby/brown colour. Creamy head leaving filigrees on the glass. Very pretty! Heavy malty aroma. Some caramellish sweetness. A dry malty finish. Another good norwegian bock.

Bottle, at Lorry (040503). Brown, moderate to heavy malty arome, very sweet. Medium body. My first Bock-bier and a favourite.

UPDATED: JAN 14, 2006 Medium off-white head of large bubbles; clear, dark red body. Sweet malty aroma, notes of bread; faint notes of coffee. Not that much aroma. Sweet taste, with some off notes, maybe some butter. Faint bitterness, faint burntess. Not very much taste, and some of what is there isn’t entirely right. Well. It’s OK, I guess. A disappointment, this, as some of the other Mack stuff is quite good.

Bottled. Rubyish/dark copper coloured, small white bubbly head. Rye, raisins and malt in a pleasant mix in the aroma. Sweet fruity flavour with plummy, malty and hoppy hints. Quite weldone and -balanced.

Ruby amber brown color, not much head. Burned sugar, rye bready aroma. Medium-bodied. Burned sugary flavor. Decent brew from macro brewery.
