2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
A hazy brown beer with a thin lazing brown head. The aroma is light, but sweet malty, and the flavor is pretty one-dimensional sweet malty, only with hints of caramel.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: JUL 6, 2005 (Bottle 33 cl) Brown beer, not much head. Very malty and smoked flavours coming closed to being almost burned. Lots of sweetnes and a rather discreet bitterness. Tasty. Another exceptional Norwegian Bock of high quality. 270804

1.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 5/20
(on bottle)has a wonderfull aroma, loads of rotten fruits, dark malts and barley of the field. And the first few sips are OK, but sweet. This sweetness turns into a sticky, almost stomack-turning yuckiness, coulden´t finish the bottle. Not impressed Tromsø, and I even lived up there for two years, nothing to brag about for this one.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: DEC 13, 2004 Bottled. Dark brown. Aroma of malt and plums. Roasty and lightly vinous. Fairly light bodied, but with a lot of malt flavour. Dryish, yet with notes of honey and coffee. Not much bitterness. Flavourful and interesting. By far the best Mack beer I’ve had.

2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
This was a real beer bummer, coming on the heels of the terrific Borg Bokkol (bock). In contrast, the Mack bock is merely copper colored (not all that dark for a bock) and lacked the sweetness or malty thickness I look for. In short, skip this one.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Very sweet malt nose.
Brown amber, low head.
Malt, sweet and roasted, dominates, but a slightly fruity taste comes out in the aftertaste together with a bitterhop exit.
Surprisingly weak body and thin mouthfeel.

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 12/20
A good, well rounded brew, but it’s too thin in the end. Weak hops gives some water-taste.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Not as good as Aass Bock in any way, considerably thinner, fairly light brown colour, weaker aroma, more of a refreshment beer than a sipping beer, still it’s drinkable - probably Mack’s best product after all.
