3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 larsga (5325) - Oslo, NORWAY - JAN 15, 2012
Medium beige head. Clear deep reddish brown body with light
carbonation of small bubbles. Milky roasty aroma with fruity,
buttery caramel pudding notes. A bit strange. Dry-sweet roasty
vanilla fudge taste with caramelly fruity buttery notes.
Mid-bodied. Mild, soft, smooth mouthfeel. Dryish-sweet spicy
perfumy vanilla and honey aftertaste with roasty chocolatey
earthy notes. Nice, but perhaps a touch sweet and dense. (0.33l
bottle, gift from Rune. Thank you very much, Rune!)

0.33 L bottle. Thanks a lot Rune, for this one! Medium tall, yellow hued blond head. Body is dark ruby brown, and shows good clarity when holding it up to a light-source. Sweet nutty malt aroma, with notes of English licorice and cookies. Faint spice tones, too. Anise-seeds maybe. Medium malt body. Quite sweet, nutty and cakey, with some roast tones and suggestions of dark dried fruits with a light acidic twist. Feels light in the mouth. Short, sugar-accented malt finish. A decent and easy drinkable Porter.

Bottle, thanks to Rune.
Very dark brown, malt and liquorice aroma.
Spicy flavour, fennel, liquorice, fine bitterness, too. Sweet notes in the finish.
Light body, some warming alcohol in the background.
3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Finn (3090) - Tromsø, NORWAY - DEC 5, 2011
3.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Rune (6125) - Tromsø, NORWAY - DEC 3, 2011
A few half litres from tap at Ølhallen during November. Shiny black naked surface. Completely black body, more or less. Rather subdued aroma of dark, mid-sweet malts, slightly roasted. Liquorice up front in the taste profile mingled with notes of coffee and chocolate. Dark bitter fruits throughout with a pleasant roastiness. Well bodied. A tasty Yuletide brew (Tromsø, November 2011).
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Nordcore (822) - Lyngen alps, NORWAY - DEC 1, 2011
Thanks to E. Botlle with no label(usually you get this only from tap at some bars in Tromsø*), from Mack’s microbrewery. Deep deep red, almost black with a nice lightbrown head. The aroma of roasted malt with dark fruits and chocolate. The taste is sweet with a nice chocolate and chistmas spices ending. A bit oily. This is one of the best beers I have tasted from MAck, nice job!

Courtesy of Rune. Thanks buddy and congrats with the 60 years! Bottle no lable, just something in the glass that looks like hops plants. Lov fluffy but lasting light brown head. Clear and good looking ruby body. Complex sweet aroma of roasted barley malt dried fruit caramel raisin vanilla and a just a hint of alcohol but to my astonishment I could not smell coffee. Relatively bitter roasted malt vineous flavor of sour berries. High carbonation, long aftertaste.
