Jukkabro (2369), Tampere, Finland May 11, 2008 Near black colored with brown hints. Medium sized beige head. Sweet and caramelly roasted aroma with some burned brown sugar. Thin to medium bodied, still not watery palate even only 3% ABV. Flavor is also sweet with caramel in start, roastiness also here. Aftertaste turns to somehow lactic and sour with still roastiness.
REDBOSOX (42), Vineyard Haven, Massachusetts, USA Aug 31, 2008 I didn’t expect much when I picked up a 4-pack of these fairly cheap. I poured one in a glass and took a good sip. It was surprisingly very good! It’s like Guinness with more flavor. It’s nice and dark yet very smooth. It’s sweet and tastes of coffee with a slight bitterness. My wife’s not a big-time beer drinker but definitely liked this one. It’s a stout that I’ll certainly buy again. Borresteijn (542), Amstelveen, Netherlands Jul 13, 2008 Can @ home. Nice black colour, creamy head. Sweet nose, roasted malts. Taste is initially of roasted malts, coffee and some bitterness, but gets really sweet in the end. The sweetness stays. Soft and full mouthfeel, but this is too sweet for my liking. troopie (484), USA Jul 9, 2008 Bottle. Poured black with a thick tan head. Slight aroma of malt. Sweetish malt taste, thin body, thinnish finish. A rather ordinary stout. azlondon (486), Greater London, England Jul 1, 2008 Appearance: Very dark brown, almost black. Tan, shortlived head.
Aroma: Coffee and dark malt. Burnt.
Taste: Smooth and sweet. Coffee and dark malt. Too sweet?
