Great with barbecued foods! The sweetness and richness blew me away!! No more than two bottles at a sitting, though!

Very rich , chocolately beer, bold and strong flavor than can take the unwary by surprise. I’ve heard people say it tastes like soy sauce...then again I’ve heard people listen to the Carpenters.

My wife thinks this beer tastes like bacon.....this is why I don’t ask her opinion or allow her to drink my beer. It does have a delightful burnt/smoky taste that tends to linger for a bit. The dark color and interesting head make this beer a pleasure to look at....but I’d rather drink it.

It’s sweetness seems to somewhat simplify an otherwise perfect brew; chocolate and burnt coffee are predominant. If you like sweet stouts, look no further. An important beer in my beer-education; this was the brew that taught me that Guiness was but a minority among stouts. Eclipsed for me by Young’s (only barely) and equalled by a few Belgians and American micros of various stripes, this is nonetheless still one of my top 10. Like drinking chocolate expresso beans without the sugar rush. Yum.

Very creamy, very little head, but what is there is dark and creamy. Very dark, and a bit of a hoppy smell to it. A hint of chocolate, but he aftertaste is distinctly coffee. Nice and robust, too thick to drink more than one or two in a sitting, but still most excellent.

Very sugary and sweet with coffee and chocolate undertones. Slightly syrupy with a thin mouthfeel.

Let the masses be convinced that Guinness is the ultimate stout. That leaves more Mackesons for me! If you like your stout a litte sweeter, drink up. Cheers!

Good for its style. Too sweet to have more than one. I am not a fan of milk stout
