Pours black, with a chocolate, thick head from the bottle. Has a very smooth, not bitter, nor overpoweringly flavor, but also doesn’t stay on your palate too long, making the flavor light IMO. One of my all time favorite stouts--one of the first I ever had some 15 years ago--hard to find in the MD/VA/DC area. I seriously think you could put a scoop of ice cream in this; maybe I’ll try that one day soon.

Pours black. Smells of chocolate, caramel, and black licorice. Tastes like it smells with a splash of molasses. Very sugary.

Pours black into the English pint with a slight hint of amber on the edges. An inch of tan head with sticky lacing on the sides. Scents of chocolate, coffee, malt and caramel. Excellent coating mouthfeel with chocolate flavors dominating. A very drinkable stout.

Bottle as shown. Pours a very dark brown with a small light tan head that diminishes rather quickly. The aroma is a roasted malt with chocolate and black licorice. Decent lacing on the glass. The taste a roasted malt with a sweet dry finish. A very good sweet stout from the boston beer co.

I was underwhelmed by this. The head was pretty and the beer was dark as night but it lacked any presence. Malts are overshadowed with caramellish like soda pop uuugh. A nice roastiness in the nose. Body is thinner than it should be for a "triple" stout. Sure its something diffenet but this is far from chewy stout love. Pass.
