| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 16/20 | Jul 9, 2007 Black motor oil pour with thick tan head. Head slowly dissolves with only a thin film and lace remaining. Notes of chocolate and malt in the aroma. Roasted malt and chocolate are the main flavors present in the taste as well. Dissapointing thin/watery mouthfeel. Nice chocolate finish. When you consider the 4.9% ABV, not bad. MoDog (927), Griffith, Indiana, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 5, 2007 Poured from a 12oz bottle into a pint glass. This stout poured a deep, deep black with a dark tan head of tiny bubbles that faded immediately. No lace. The aroma consisted of roasted malts, sweet chocolate, and just a hint of coffee. The flavor was made up of sweet milk chocolate, light roasted malts, weak coffee, and a touch of very light smoke. Medium to full-bodied mouthfeel with a good dose of carbonation. A decent session stout.
