COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Editor’s Note: This is a higher alcohol version of the British Mackeson Stout. Brewed chiefly in the United States by Boston Beer Co. at their Cincinnati location (the old Hudepohl brewery). Also brewed at the Carib Brewery in St. Kitts for the eastern Caribbean market.

I used to love dragon stout (to many other’s chagrin), but then I discovered this beer- pretty much like a more subtle, classy, and natural-tasting version of the Jamaican Dragon Stout. Malt flavors explode with strong suggestions of caramelized sugar, like an over the top Scotch Ale. Pitch black with dark brown head that quickly dissipated. I would buy more of this.

Mildly roasty, very sweet. Smooth body, palate is nice, but not overly thick. Flavor is pretty mono-dimensional though, not a whole lot going on. Defintely taste the lactose added in. Biggest problem is the sugar tends to dry out your mouth.

Deep brown in color with a small beige head. Aroma is of chocolate, cream, and coffee. Taste is of mocha, roasted malts and caramel. Mouthfeel is very creamy.

Brown-Black with a tan head. Sweet aroma of cream, roasted malts, coffee. Flavor of roasted malts, a little coffee with a burnt finish. Light and creamy.

This is a beer that I wanted to like much more than I did. It was beautiful as it poured and its aroma was sweet and thick. When I tasted it I realized that it really was sweet and thick. It is just a bit too sweet and a bit too thick for me. To be fair, I am not a big fan of stouts.

solid dark brown pour, reddish brown head, nice looking beer sweet malty aroma, milky chocolate syrup, some caramel apple very smooth body, but a bit thin the taste is a much more roasted, with some coffee and darker chocolate, but overall fairly mild, and lacking a nice stout-y finish

Bottle. Pours a black body with a 1 finger white head. Sweet malty, lactose caramel with a light glucose body. Light milk chocolate with a light licorice finish. Good brew but nothing incredible.
