Poured a very dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma was of lots of chocolate mainly, and some mild cappucino. Flavor iwas very sweet, too sweet, not enough bittering at all

Poured pitch black with a brown head. Malty aroma. Taste was roast malt with a hint of coffee and a big dose of chocolate. Not the bitter baking chocolate you get in most stouts, but smooth and creamy milk chocolate. There may be better stouts out there, but I love chocolate. Mmmmmm chocolate.
2.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 9/20 cazort (456) - Newark, Delaware, USA - JUL 29, 2008
(Bottle) This is the sweetest, mildest stout I’ve ever tried. It wins on texture and appearance but loses on aroma and flavour. The aroma is not particularly strong; not rich and caramelly like some of the sweeter porters. No hops worth mentioning. The carbonation is soft but present. You can taste the alcohol. Very sweet. Too sweet, in my opinion, although the sweetness is accompanied by a richness in the malt flavour that makes this one at least somewhat palatable. There is richness, but no complexity to the malt. To some degree, I would say this beer is well-executed, given that it is both sweet and bland. But the fact that it is sweet and bland, in my opinion, ruins it. Drink it perhaps as dessert, in place of cake or a muffin. Not as beer.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 unclemike (1363) - Ft. Riley, Kansas, USA - JUL 28, 2008
(bottle) Pours black with a small dark tan head. Aroma is very sweet with some brown sugar and vanilla, no roasted malt. This beer tastes like someone took Coke and infused it with some roasted malt, because the taste is almost exactly like coke initially then a slight roasted finish comes in to remind me I’m drinking a stout. Pretty thin body, not that good

This is one of the first craft beers I ever had, so please excuse my emotional bias. Do you like mocha lattes? This is the beer for you. In summation: coffee, chocolate, scalded milk. Pretty much exactly what comes to mind when I think about what a sweet stout should taste like.

12oz. Bottle: Sweet aroma. Smells of chocolate, malts, roasting, and cream. Poured black in color with a large, dense, dark-brown head that shrank but lasted throughout. Opaque. Flavor is medium sweet and lightly bitter. Tastes of milk chocolate, Hershey’s Chocolate Syrup, malts, roasting, espresso, and mocha. Medium body. Smooth texture. Soft carbonation. Chocolate and roasting in the finish.

caramel, coffee, chocolate, tan foam, dark chocolate color, medium sweetness, lightly bitter, medium body, soft carbonation, creamy,
Nice pour, head quickly disappears. Excellent aroma, combined with good aftertaste increases value of beer. Generally a good beer with nice bitter sweet mocha flavor.

Like an alcoholic Mocha. It’s smooth, chocolaty, bitter like a good stout should be. Illegal to sell in Alabama, but completely worth that trip to Columbus.
