Aroma: Malted milk, prunes, chocolate, coffee, a bit of hazelnut and a butterscotchy caramel character. Overall, reminds me of Milk Duds. Appearance: Black like black cherries, with a brown sugary head. A very eye-catching, impactful appearance. Flavor: Oh my god... it’s like a chocolate malt! Actually, it’s like a chocolate malt diluted with a bit of espresso. Very smooth, milky, and bittersweet. An odd mineral taste that intrudes on the palate keeps me from giving this one a perfect 5, but it is very delicious. Palate: Full-bodied withouth being overwhelming or cloying, but could be a bit thicker and creamier to match the taste. Overall: Exceptionally drinkable, especially for $4.99 a six-pack at Trader Joe’s! I’ll deftinitely buy this one again.

Haven’t had this one in at least 6 years, but remember really liking it. Bottle purchased at Kroger. Black pour with a thick tan head. Aroma of malt and dank English yeast with some chocolate and roast. Malty and sweet flavor with some chocolate and big raisin. Didn’t like it as much as I did many years ago.

Flaska. Svart dryck med mjölkchokladfärgat skum. I både smak och doft är det kakao och vanilj som gäller. I smaken dessutom spår av kaffe. Mjuk och len munkänsla.

Bottle: Pours very dark brown with a thick, dark head. Milk, chocolate...slightly oxidized aroma. Very sweet chocolate/caramel malt...lactic, sugary cream. Too sweet....cloying and unpleasant.

Bottle courtesy of a recent Tampa Tasting. Pours a dark stout brown with a tan head. Nose is sweet chocolate, roasted malt, earth, and a mild bitterness. Flavor is similar- sweet chocolate, chocolate syrup, malt, earth, and some mild bitterness and oxidation. Light to medium in body and lingering chocolate syrup and oxidation into the finish.

Small bottle. One of those beers I’d had a number of times before joining RB and forgotten about... oh why did I have to open up old wounds? This is like milk, coke, and stout mixed together. Doesn’t deserve a real review from me, a chocolately metallic alcopop. Blech. Thank god it’s "unique".

Pours black with a lingering, medium, dark tan head. Aroma is a nice combination of chocolate, vanilla, licorice, and some light coffee. Of these, the the chocolate seems to stand out most. The taste is sweet with lots of rich chocolate. It has vanilla undertones, sugar, and hints of coffee. It seems that the sweetness grows more potent the more that you drink this. Its has a light to medium body. Mild carbonation, and with a texture that I would describe as somewhat rough. I think this is pretty good if you have one. But altogether its to sweet to have more than that.

Dark pour big foamy head. Aroma of horse grain strong malt. Tastes sweet malty grainy. Sticky palate. Old malta goya. Couldn’t finish.
