1.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 ontbeermaker (1406) - Ontario, CANADA - JUL 1, 2011
Tap at C’est What. Pours golden, smell wasnt much to it. it just looked like a pale lager, the taste was very alcoholy and it was very bland, no noticable hops. very basic beer, not what you would expect for an ’ipa’

Buh. Weak yellow pour with a light earthy hoppiness. Fairly estery and lacking in hop character. A bit of light fruit, but very low in bitterness. Not an IPA by any stretch.
2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 mabel (4405) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - NOV 23, 2010
[3383-20100924] Cask. Sickly sweet maple syrupy malt corn aroma. Clear, medium orange body with a quick creamy white head. Sweet grain malt flavour throughout has mild apple core and corn notes. Medium body. Average, some very mild hints of hops.

2010-09-24 at Cest What 2010 Fall Festival of Beers, day 1. Cask. This will likely suffer having to follow two terrific brews, Flying Monkeys honeysmashbombwhatever and Beau’s Gose (still stunned how good that was). Clear gold with a small fizzy/frothy white head. The aroma is ... off-putting; butter, paper and some grassy bitterness? No way. Taste is less butter, not really sweet, but lacks any character - no alcohol to speak of, it’s sharply bitter, but generic only (no resin, herbal, citrus etc character) - meh. Flat, oddly thick mouthfeel, with a harsh and ugly bitter aftertaste - and I LIKE bitter. Not too good. I see this is no longer considered an IPA - frankly I don’t know what it is.
2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20 blankboy (4454) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 7, 2010
Cask at ’Cest What Fall Festival of Beer’. Pours a only-slightly hazy gold with a small semi-lasting fizzy white head. Aroma: No, no, no! Ugh, it’s sugary sweet, papery and grainy -- just awful. Watery flavour is buttery, sugary, papery and grainy along with a light bitter finish. Light bodied. Not an IPA at all and CRAP.

MacLeans Broadsword IPA cask
Appearance: golden orange, small White head. Aroma: caramel, a little banana, clover, biscuit. Flavour: butter, caramel, paper, a little hop, weird. Disappointing.

UPDATED: JUN 26, 2011 2011-06-21. Fruity aroma is sweet, lightly yeasty. Orange headless body. Flavour is similarly fruity, light bitterness throughout has a sharpness to it at times. Lightly astringent? Average plus palate is lightly carbonated. Mild citrus in the back end. Pretty meh. 6/3/6/3/12 - 3.0C’est What, Toronto
2010-09-24. Lightly hazy golden body, modest white head. 3+ Muted aroma, sweet, bit of estery notes that are a bit odd. Flavour is mildly bitter throughout but fairly sweet, lightly yeasty, muted fruit touches. 5+ Average to light body. Dull. Not much going on. Disappointing. 6/3/5/3/12 - 2.9 Tap at Cest What, Toronto

Cask @ Volo’s IPA Challenge.
Nose has a nice orangeness and some malt, very light amber, minimal head. Taste is malt with a bit of orange essence. Light bodied, easy drinking. Good.
