3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 VeloVampire (616) - Parkdale, Toronto, - MAY 16, 2011
Cask at the Woolwich Arms - came a clear dark ruby with a two-finger bubbly cask head. That diminished fairly quickly. Aroma of dark stone-fruits, fruit-cake, demerara sugar. Sweet. Flavour is similar but with a sort of harshness (not bitterness) to the works. Medium bitter - but flavourless - finish. Weird beer, not bad, just kinda strange. Probably wouldn’t get again.

On cask at the Wooly. Pours slightly cloudy, chestnutty in colour, no head. Aroma and taste are slightly sweet and woody, not a lot of hops. Not bad.
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 blankboy (4454) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - DEC 22, 2009
Cask at ’Volo Cask Days 2009’. Pours a hazy dark amber with no head. Aroma is buttery along with caramel malt and light hops. Flavour’s quite watery, with caramel malt, a bit buttery again, and with a mild bitter finish. Average bodied. A poor attempt at an Old Ale.
2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 HogTownHarry (4873) - Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, CANADA - NOV 17, 2009
Cask. At Volo Cask Days 2009. Hazy chestnut pour with an average frothy diminishing off-white head (3+). Buttery, harsh aroma - the taste is a bit better, subdued butter, more caramel and some floral bitterness, as well as a hint of orange ... average body, slightly harsh and bitter linger: pretty characterless and not very good.

[2565-20091031] Cask. Sweet syrupy tree bark aroma. Slightly hazy, medium orange brown body with no head. Sweet bold malt syrup flavour is a little whiskey-esque. Medium body. Very sweet, a little overly sweet actually.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 robinvboyer (2198) - Sturgeon Falls, Ontario, CANADA - NOV 2, 2009
Volo Cask Days 2009. Strong aroma of alcohol, and cognac sweetness. Flavor was more or the same. Lots of sweet malts, and some sweet boozey notes with touches of cherry in the finish.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20 Sammy (6129) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - NOV 1, 2009
Enjoyed on cask at Volo 2009 cask days. A strong aroma, some roast and fruiitiness. Taste is coffee-ish roast, weak body. Dark brown with good bubbly head. Some citrus. Off the mark as an old ale, and has the consistent sourness of MacLeans, that detracted from flavour.
