COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Blonde Mac is a light-coloured blonde beer flavoured with orange peel and crushed coriander seeds. It has an initial subtle orange aroma followed by light citrus and floral characters. The taste builds on this with more orange and a coriander lift melded with the smoothness of the wheat malt. It finishes with a "zing" from the freshly ground coriander, providing a unique cleansing finish as opposed to a lingering bitterness.

Looks like a peroxide blonde. Citrus fruity aromas, like orange crush cordial, which I quite like. Couldn’t see myself drinking more than 1 of these in a sitting though.

This beer most closely resembles a Belgian wit, since it is brewed with orabge peel, wheat, and coriander, but the label says, and the flavour indicates that it is lagered. Not a horrible beer, but it is a bit on the sweet side. You definitley get a wheaty citrus flavour, but I think that it needs more hops to balance out the over all sweetness.

Not Bad. The Coriander and Orange peel are quite nice but, nowhere near strong enough. On the whole, a "nice" drop.

Draught at The Honest Lawyer, Nelson. Clear pale golden, no head. Obvious orange aroma. Medium bodied with clean, rounded mouthfeel. The body is unusually beefy for a witbier and the coriander flavour is ramped up as well. Still it’s a more than decent effort.

Passable blonde, but not exceptional. Clean nose colour and flavour, but I think it lacks from not being bottle conditioned. This is an ideal summer beer.

Very citrussy, with a little wet-dog element too. Palate is dominated by orange and lemon flavours, which early on I quite liked as it was 32 degrees outside. But as I got through it, the citrus flavour became a little too much, and seemed artificial in a way. Certainly has no characteristics to suggest it is a wheat beer-- no estery quality, no wheatiness in the palate, no banana/bubblegum notes-- it wasn’t even the least bit hazy. I feel a little cheated by this beer, but I am willing to cut it some slack because I truly did enjoy it in the hot Perth sunshine.

On tap at Warners in Christchurch. Thought I’d be getting a blone wheat beer when I asked for this, but nup, it wasn’t. Puzzling aroma of fruit and enjoyable beer, but the label bothered me. Blonde? No way.
