A light-coloured lager conditioned over 30 days. It has a good head, balanced sweet/bitter palate and a clean aftertaste. Brewed for the connoisseur, Macís Gold is brewed using only choice Motueka hops and quality barley. The bottom fermentation process of brewing by using a gravity system produces a naturally-brewed, all malt lager that contains no added chemicals, preservatives or colouring.

Bottle 330ml.
Clear light yellow color with a large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, white to off-white head. Aroma is light to moderate malty, toasted. Flavor is light to moderate sweet and light bitter with a average duration. Body is light to medium, texture is watery, carbonation is soft. Just borring ! [20081231]

A golden beer with a fine but fast disappearing head. The aroma is malty sweet , but a simple pilsener aroma. The flavor is a weird artificial malty one - dry but not very carbonated. It ends on an OK bitterness. A really boring lager.

UPDATED: FEB 11, 2008 (Bottle 33,5 cl) McCashinís, a small and proundly independent brewery situated in the middle of the hop growing area in NZ around Nelson. Pale golden, with quite a decent head. Fairly classical lager type with a nice hop-bite. Surprisingly full body considering the low alcohol. 270603

(On tap) Courtesy of yalnikim. Clear, pale golden with a small, white head. Lightly sweet, malty nose. Medium body with notes of malt, brewing cereal and fruit. Dry finish. In the better end of NZ Pale Lagers, yet still just a Pale Lager though. 4/2/4/2/8=2.0 310108

Bottled. Pale golden, Brief papery aroma. Dry yet fruity. The falvour is extremely short which leaves a vacuum behind it along with a stinging metallic feeling on your tongue, and a wish for a beer to wash it all down.

Clear pale gold beer. Short lived white head. Light palate a little dry. Very light malt with just a whisper of hop. Competent but bog standard lager. Easy drinking.

Bottle in London. Clear copper pour with a sliding, fizzy white head. Cheap malts and grain in the nose. Sugary flavor, some cereal grains and not really any bitterness. Light to medium in body with average carbonation. More cereal, sugar and not terribly pleasant malts to finish. An uninspiring beer on the whole.
