1.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 Sully (1378) - Potts Point, New South Wales, - DEC 4, 2003
Surprisingly good for a beer of this ABV. Not surprisingly this is still deserving of a light beer rating
1.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 8/20 jimthechap (804) - Christchurch, NEW ZEALAND - AUG 28, 2011
Another one from the archives (but I have had as recently as New Year 2011). I recall a distinct pineapple aroma from a beer that was sparkling light straw with a voluminous, fluffy head. Flavours were marginal to non-existent, but did the job in getting me past a police check-point at 2am as six of these was all I’d had to drink. What a good boy.
1.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 5/20 Ungstrup (24024) - Oamaru, NEW ZEALAND - MAR 30, 2011
Bottled. A golden beer with a white head. The aroma has notes of unfermented grain. The flavor is sweet and is dominated by unfermented grain. The body is thin.
2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 DuffMan (4429) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - FEB 24, 2009
Judging this within its own peer group of the low-alcohol niche, it stands up quite nicely. Clean grainy pale malt aroma and flavour, none of the apple-juice character that seems to curse this style so often. Low hop bitterness adds a little character. Thin, to be sure, but that’s not a surprise.
2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 yalnikim (800) - Wellington, NEW ZEALAND - MAR 13, 2008
Tasted 16/12/2007. Bottle at the SOBA HomeBrewFest (when will a homebrewer make a beer for the driver?). Bubblegum, soda water, a very mild hint of grain-like sweetness, little to no hop character - not even the metallic Mac’s Gold hop. Nothing wrong with it - except that it doesn’t taste like beer.
1.1 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 4/20 Papsoe (23023) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - FEB 13, 2008
(Bottle 33 cl) Clear, golden with a small, white head leaving laces. Weak aroma of malt. Extremely thin and watery, almost no malt feel and an edge of cardboard. Absolutely no bitterness. This is damn close to water. 050208
1.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20 Plimmer (251) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - FEB 5, 2008
Light golden clear body with normal size head. Sweet nose in some strange way with a little citrus. Very light feeling and short neutral aftertaste.
1.4 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20 omhper (15965) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - FEB 10, 2006
Bottled. Clear golden, rich head. Papery malt aroma.Sweet and very thin, the body just falls through. There is some grassy bitterness, but rasinyn sweet malt flavours dominates, like in a malta. Might be nearly as good as water if you need to stay sober, but enjoyable it is not.
