3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 mkel07 (1555) - Brisbane, AUSTRALIA - OCT 15, 2010
330ml bottle. My low expectation was certainly well surpassed. Copper colour with red flecks when held to the light. Strong beige head caps off a good solid body. Strong caramel malt aroma bursts from the glass and nutty biscuit flavours blend well together to give a smooth feel on the palate.

Dull dark amber. Light fruity aroma with some crystal malt chewiness. Predominantly chewy character, with fresh malts. Ok, probably a bit too chewy and doesn’t showcase this NZ Saaz at all.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Beershine (4561) - The Sunshine State, Florida, USA - JUN 22, 2010
Bottle @ Beerfest Asia. Dark amber with nice light fluffy head. Balanced aroma has enough crisp hop character. The flavors are far maltier, sweet and cookie-like. Soft palate. Decent if you like this malt character.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Jade (294) - AUSTRALIA - MAY 1, 2010
Deep brownish red colour with a biege head that dissipates quickly. Very little carbonation. Oaky, coffee aroma. Roasted nut or coffee taste. Leaves a bitter after taste on the back of the throat. Quite pleasant.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Ungstrup (22906) - Oamaru, NEW ZEALAND - APR 21, 2010
Draft. A red beer with an off-white head. The aroma has notes of malt and caramel as well as lighter notes of butterscotch. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, caramel, and bread, leading to a dry and very bitter finish.

330ml bottle. Very attractive deep coppery red hue, nice off white creamy head which unfortunately shows poor retention, moderate lacing. A nice mix of malty aromas (caramel biscuit mostly, some nuttiness) with very appealing strong resinous hops some fruitiness and a bit woody. Mildly sweet, moderately bitter. I think this would improve if it had more substance in the palate. Had this beer ages ago and thought it rocked, today its reasonably good and at $2 NZ for an individual bottle its great value. Pretty good for a micro turned macro.

Thi sis areally good bitter style beer with that NZ Nelson Sauvin twist. Lovely malt aroma which is well balanced with the hops. I’ve had NS hopped beers before and it can be quite a big up-front aromatic hop vairety bu in this beer it is all well balanced leaning toward the malt side as it should. Very nice beer, could drink this all night.
