COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
There are a million reasons to enjoy a lower carbohydrate lager, but not one for drinking lousy beer. That is why Mac's has gone overboard on Spring Tide. We've allowed the completely organic malts to linger in the mash twice as long as other beers, and keeping with the whole naturally-brewed vibe, no enzymes are added. You'll enjoy the predictably clean, dry taste and the upredictably bitter finish of Spring Tide. While the general throttling back on carbohydrates should offer its own sense of satisfaction.

It’s got the head retention of soda, leaving a sad, bright and lifeless amber fluid in the glass that holds just a few adhesive big bubbles to the base. Light grain shows under some heavy DMS, and bitter and raw herbal notes on the nose. Quite malty, doughy and powdery in the mouth with a backbone of wet cardboard. Thin with light carbonation and adequately crisp finish that has just a breath of hop. Rather bland beyond that. I didn’t try this chilled so admittedly it might not be too bad an entry in the now surpassed low-carb genré. (33cL, BB 10/10/12, Dan Murphy’s Currambine)

Beer in a very liberal sense of the word. pale golden, clear, sparkling, minimal head, light sweetness, lightly bitter, light body, thin feel, fizzy,

Jimthechap (1195) - Christchurch, NEW ZEALAND - MAY 21, 2011
Looks pretty enough with a full, fluffy white head that subsides slowly and a pale hay colour. Aromas are that of pale malts and floral grassiness, maybe dehydrated banana as well. As for taste, there isn’t much of one to be honest. The blurb says clean and dry and it is certainly unsullied by flavour, that’s for sure. Just a bit disappointing.

Bottle. Pours a very pale yellow with a disappearing white head. Almost nothing on the nose - watery malt. Everything else is a standard watered down light pale lager. It’s not offensive or actively bad, there’s just nothing good about it.

Bottle. Pours a slightly cloudy kinda weird ornagy brown colour. No head what so ever, No real aromas to speak off. Taste is not much better. Yeah dont really see the point of this beer.

Draft. A light golden beer with a thin white head. The aroma has notes of malt as well as lighter notes of caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, but still lacking some malt due to it being a low carb beer, which also makes the body a bit light.

UPDATED: FEB 23, 2010 Watery with little flavour and a metallic dry after-taste. Surprised, given the quality of Macs other offerings. To say it was terrible may be a bit harsh but it has got worse each time I have tried it.

Flat head and diluted water. Not much to say about it on the plus side at all. Vegemite and chemical tastes in the end. Foul.
