3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20 ross (1915) - weddington, North Carolina, USA - OCT 1, 2006
My friend brought this bottle to me from her trip to New Zealand. So, thanks Ash! Pours out a yellow color without much of a head. Smell is hops and a touch of corn and wheat. Taste is smooth and a little bitter from some hop additions. Pretty smooth, I would drink quite a few of these if I was down there. Not too shabby. Cool bottle too.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 pickled (47) - NEW ZEALAND - AUG 23, 2006
The best thing ever to come out of Mac’s. Not quite as good as the first few batches out of the Wellington Brewing Company but certainly the best thing in a Mac’s bottle. A great hoppy new world pilsener.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 beerledgend (1050) - Waterloo, Wellington, NEW ZEALAND - FEB 16, 2006
In bottle, brewed by Wellington Brewery for Mac’s
Pale yellow straw colour with big white head. Mild hoppy aroma. Spicy hop taste.
I normally would associate "blonde" with a wheat beer with coriander and orange, ala Leffe blonde, but this is more of a big pilsner style. Is very refeshing.
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20 omhper (15965) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - FEB 9, 2006
Draught at Smuggler’s, Nelson.
Clear pale yellow. Grassy hop aroma. Dry and crisp with grainy malt character. The body is slender and it has good bite in the bitterness. A good, real pilsener. By far my favourite from these guys.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20 JoeMcPhee (6967) - Toronto, ON, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 1, 2005
Pale straw colour. Spicy noble hop aroma with thin pale malts. Flavour is well-balanced, hoppy flavour, spicy with a moderately bitter finish. Pretty good.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 yalnikim (800) - Wellington, NEW ZEALAND - MAR 10, 2005
Tasted 09/03/2005. On tap at the brewery.
This straw gold lager is only matured for a couple of weeks according to the tasting notes... not very lagered. Thin white head reveals another well laced beer from this brewery - at least the glasses are clean. The nose reveals a huge citrus aroma even when cold. Bitterness and citrus dominate the flavour in this softly carbonated, yet thin, blonde. As with the brown, I get a strange refried beans aroma coming through as the beer rises in temperature slightly.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 eczematic (1297) - Sydney, AUSTRALIA - JAN 13, 2004
a good crisp NZ style fruity-tangy pilsener. nice and pale. bready malt, fine, late bitterness, with tanginess maybe from NZ hops or wheat, or both. very clean, easy drinkin, low-pH sort of pils.
