12 oz. bottle- Pours deep black with a small head. This holiday porter tastes of roasted chocolate malt with a nice spicy flavor. Very enjoyable.

12 oz bottle into Trappist glass (couldn’t find proper glassware). Aroma is roasted malt, coffee. Pours brownish-black with little head and average lacing. Taste is sweet, then bitter. Carbonation is medium. A little watery. A very tasty porter, but nothing outstanding.

Bottle pours out a dark brown topped with a good looking head. Aroma is of sweet chocolate, light hops, and even a little spice. Taste is more of the chocolate, a little dark bitter not so much milk chocolate. The light spice pops up once again along with a few hop notes. Not to bad.

12 oz. bottle - pours thin, dark brown with 2" foamy tan head settling slowly and some lacing remains; quite a beauty to look at; light aromas of bakers chocolate, espresso, berries and a little nutmeg-ish spice; very light texture with mild flavors of roasted chocolate, dry spice, ashy branches and a little fruit; very thin and almost watery going down; choco powder and dry chocolate; starts out with potential and decent flavor base, but just crazy light and watery

Bottle: Very dark brown pour with a finger of creamy tan head. Nice little bits of lacing. Strong aroma is sweet, chocolate filled, roasty, and some faint espresso/mocha. The flavor is roast forward with light bittersweetness and dark chocolate. Again, light hints of espresso. Lacks what some would consider to be ’intense’ flavors, but one of MacTarnahan’s better brews and overall quite enjoyable. I see I’m against the grain on this one, but really a 3.7 was how it came out and 3.8-3.9 isn’t really out of the question...

~Aroma of roasted toasty chocolate malts, bready cereal. ~Pours black with bug creamy tan head. ~Bready chocolate flavor some harsh roasted bitterness that is pleasant. ~Med body med carbonation, roasted chocolate finish that lingers. ~This a very pleasing porter. Delicious. Good to drink anytime.

Dark brown red with minimal beige head. Standard coffee and chocolate porter aroma. Doesn’t taste like much of anything. Some mocha and sugar but it fades quickly.
