Rich, amber hue and full-bodied flavor begin with roasted, domestic caramel malt. Itís sweetness is then tempered with genuine Cascade hops, which are added again at the end of the boil for a distinctive, citric-floral aroma.

Really light for a red ale, hoppy and lightly fruited, zero nose but smooth. Get a pitcher of this in Portland, other than that donít waste your time.

355ml bottle. Pours a medium amber, with a white head. Malty aroma, slightly grainy, caramel, toffee, hops. Dry, medium body and bitterness, balanced CO2. Malty taste, caramel, toffee, hops, slightly grainy, some cardboard in the background. Nothing rememberable. (2012-05-25)

355ml bottle pours a pale amber color with a finger of creamy off-white head that settles down to leave some nice soapy lacing on the glass. Aroma is light roasted malts and caramel with citrus hops. Taste is a caramel malty sweetness with some light roasted malt bitterness and a bold citrus hoppy finish. Medium body and light carbonation. A tasty amber ale that was truly appreciated.

UPDATED: FEB 5, 2013 I have a pint bottle of this brew, it contains 5.1% alcohol for those interested. Iím surprised there arenít more ratings (as of now I am the third), because I see this stuff all over the place here in the Pacific Northwest. Well the bottle says its an Amber, and this website says its an Irish Ale, and my taste buds tell me itís an IPA. What to do? Iíll rate it according to my palate, and my tongue, and my belly which tells me there are much better beers in this world.

Not bad at all. I had a glass of this at Macís bar, which has no relation to this beer. New Rating Feb. 5th, 2013. Still about the same as before. Hoppy. 2.5 overall.

Marked as 5.1% ABV and as a nitro version of MacTarnahanís Amber
Clear golden color, smooth yellowish head. Fruity, citrus, hoppy taste. Citrus aftertaste. Smooth mouthfeel, medium bitterness. Malty, sweet, fruity, citrus, hoppy scent.
I tried it side by side with MacTarnahanís Amber and seems it would be hard that the beer would be this much better if the only difference was nitro-co2 mix instead of co2, feels really as a different (and for me better) beer.

Sample from the sacramento location. Clear copper in color. Aroma is almost non-existent. Flavor is sweet and malty with a light hop finish. Palate is very light bodied with low carbonation. Overall a decent but very mild beer.

Hophazard (193) - San Francisco, California, USA - FEB 28, 2011
Hint of grapefuit, but subdued. Deep golden color with thick, off-white head. Grassy bitterness to start, almost hay like. Tasts like a copious amount of dry hops. Malt rounds and slightly softens the taste. Medium body with malty finish. Tastes more like a well hopped pale.
