3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Reddish, dark amber color, small off-white head. Light hoppy, fruity (grapes) aroma. Crisp carbonation. Pale malty, slightly fruity, finish is nicely hoppy, some white pepper. Good balanced amber ale, although not really interesting.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Surprising brew, and canít decide whether pleasantly so . . . Poured from 12 oz bottle a nice, rich amber color. Rather cloudy. Nice head, that dissipated a bit quickly, but left decent lacing throughout. Aroma let us know that this was going to be different: Very hoppy and citrusy aroma. And the aroma was not misleading -- these are the predominant tastes, as well. There was a very strong hop bite when first entering the mouth; but the finish was surprisingly smooth. The hops and citrus tones were way too overpowering -- the actual taste of malt was barely noticeable. Did we like it? Well, we drank two bottles and enjoyed the second bottle better than the first (perhaps because the element of surprise was taken away.) This seems more of a Pale Ale than an Amber -- and weíre not great fans of Pale Ales. Would we buy it again? No.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottled. Poured clear light-medium orange with a creamy cap of beige head.. sticky lacing followed it down. The aroma picked up earth and citrusy hoppage over sweet, lightly-toasted caramel.. hints of green apple joined.. just OK. The flavor didnít really take it in a better direction.. sweet caramel and green apples at the core along with a little bit of honey.. bitterness was light with earth and some citrus.. a tad tart on the finish over a lot of residual sugars. Medium-bodied with moderate-plus carbonation on the palate.. moved OK through the mouth.. not so good.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
6 oz sampler pour at the Seattle location of the brewery. Pour is clear golden amber with a minimal white head. Despite this, nice lacing appears after a few sips. Aroma is light caramel malt and a sweet tangerine fruitiness. Fresh nose. Taste is the nose reversed, tangerine and orange fruit up front followed by a mildly resin grain cereal malt. Hint of very mild diacetyl in the back. Palate is thin, towards watery. High carbonation and a clean finish make it easy to drink. Nice enough. The sampler also had a nitrogenated version of the beer and it pretty much killed it - I would put it at about a 2.5 nitro style.
