MacTarnahans Amber Ale (Macs Ale)

Ambers generally aren’t my favorite, but this was one of the more enjoyable ones. Reddish beer with fairly ephemeral head, hoppy and malty, easy on the palate.

Bottle. Nice frothy head that stays. Not much lace though. reddish amber color with the instant smell of crystal malts and decent hops--Cascade. You can definitely smell the hops just as they promise in the description. The balance is very well maintained in this ale--one of my favorites of the Pac Northwest crowd. Sweetness with malty overtures, but always hops there to support. A very nice ale.

12oz bottle. Pours a clear amber with a fast fading off-white head and spotty lacing. Nose is caramel, toffee and some light floral hops. Taste is sweet caramel malt with some resin in the finish. Lighter mouth feel. An ok Amber.

Really attractive and great tasting beer had this on tap at the Pyramid Brewery before a Mariners game in Seattle .... a beautiful amber color great malt taste smooth with a slight sweetness that helps it a lot.... the bitterness is minimal and it has a nice fruity taste i had four of these before the game and i was impressed hope this one comes to the east coast

355 ml bottle as MacTarnahans Amber Ale. Amber body with a relatively small off-white head. Moderate aroma of sweet malt and citrus. Flavor is quite typical American amber, maybe with some more caramel impression. Not to impressive, but not bad at all. Quaffable.
