Bottle at home ... black .. thin tan bubbles ... very sweet very blackcurrant malt ... bit over fizzy ... very blackcurrant ... deep malts ... little burnt ... some chocolate ... while not thin the palate isnt quite right and there definitly an oddness in the flavour.

Very enjoyable roasty porter. Nothing exceptional, but the lovely bitter roastiness is everywhere -- the aroma, the taste, and the aftertaste.

Aroma of toasted malt and chocolate. Very dark brown color with a tan head. Starts with chocolate, passing to toasted malt. A hint of bitter towards the end. Decent mouthfeel. A bit over carbonated, but very nice indeed.

UPDATED: MAY 14, 2008 Clear, very dark, garnet ale with a mid-sized, creamy, well-tanned head. The nose is of dark chocolate, mild coffee and French oak. The flavor is well-balanced and offers notes of chocolate, coffee and straw. A bit thin and watery, though. Medium-bodied with feather soft carbonation. Short, roasty, watery finish. A quality session brew for newbies, but the Blackwatch Bourbon Barrel Aged Cream Porter is definitely the better way to go.

Bottle acquired in trade with DarkElf (thanks!). Poured a dark black with red at the edges with an averaged sized light brown head. Aromas of chocolate, roasted malts and coffee. Tastes of the same. Toasty. Lightly bitter.
