Bomber. Almost black with some red and a three finger tan head that slowly falls. Coffee in the nose along with some grass and citrus hops. Flavors are sweet with softer coffee than expected. A bit of chocolate. Sourness and citrus. Bitterness is light. The feel is quite nice but the beer is average.

UPDATED: JAN 1, 2013 Bottle, this Impy had a brown-black pour and made a two to three fingers cover, it receded to a thin head with some open areas, this beer was opaque but I did some bubbles flowing up the sides of the glass, it left some spots and fingers of lacing on the sides of the glass that slid off a bit, there was no sediment in the bottle, this beer had aromas of roasted malt, faint chocolate, coffee was faint to, there was not much sweetness on the nose, the aromas were weak for an imperial stout, there were flavors of roasted malt, a little coffee and faint dry chocolate with very little sweetness in the drink, the mouth feel was about medium or so with a little creaminess, there was average carbonation, I thought it felt a bit thin on the mouth for a Imperial stout, this beer had a weak nose for a Imperial Stout, the flavor was bigger than the nose, this was a ok Impy but not a stand out drink.

Pours dark brown color with light brown head. Aromas of espresso, roasted malts and some chocolate. Coffee, sweet milk chocolate and roasted malt flavors. Medium to full body with soft carbonation and a creamy mouthfeel. Better than I was expecting.

Pours almost black with a light brown thick foam. Nice aroma of malt, caramel, chocolate and caramel. Taste is very balanced malty chocolate sweet caramel with a coffee finish. Mild carbonation with a lighter than expected mouthfeel. This is a great beer. Easy drinking for 9% beer. Get some if you can.

The best thing about this coffee imperial stout is that the coffee isnt that strong at all. This really has a pretty smooth finish to it and a nice tasty almost creamy body. Good stuff.

From tap black with large tan head. Nose of roast grain, chocolate and coffee. Flavor is subdued chocolate milk, coffee and mild roast grain. Palate is smooth with some sweetness, creamy malt, and mild bitter. Overall, easy drinking, just lacking in bold flavors or depth.

Pours solid black with a thick creamy tan head that has good retention. Aroma of sweet roast malt and coffee, a little tinny. Taste has lots of roasty flavor, malt and coffee again. Some hop presence. Not as bitter on the finish as I would expect. Dry finish. Pretty good stuff overall, the alcohol is non noticeable. Medium thick body, smooth creamy texture.

Bottle:   Let me skip my normal rating style to say that this one is black, nice moderate light brown head, good nose of coffee (yet not overbearing).   Good body, roasty, with a nice coffee balance.   I am somewhat surprised, but this one is a good stout.   Granted, I didnt think this one would be of as much interest, but it is.   Fair to say, its like Black Strap with coffee added.   Nuff said.   Good enough for me to easily have again!   Well balanced, roasty, coffee grounds, bit of licorice sweetness.   Yum!
