COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Highlander is a remarkably unique ale that combines the fruity character of authentic Scottish ale yeast with the delightful hop bouquet of our own distilled hop oil and a "kiss" of Highland heather. Used in Highland ales throughout the centuries, heather adds a touch of herbal sweetness that blends beautifully with the floral hop aroma to produce an exceptional infusion of fragrance and flavor. The result is an extraordinary crisp and refreshing pale ale.

By the name I really expected something Scottish influenced, despite the "pale ale" moniker, but nope, its an APA. Boring looking, too, dull gold color, no head. Pleasantly fresh hop aroma, like homebrew! Cascades? Flavor is more balanced, although a bit harsh. Malts pretty underwhelming, very clean.

Thin fizzy head and gold in appearance. Weak nose that has some hop and small floural aroma. Flavor is a bit flat and has tiny amount of hop equally balanced with malt. Im sorry, but this was one sorry ass APA and im glad i only bought a 12 oz.

Poured cloudy gold yellow with no head. Aroma is light malt and wet dishrag. Flavor is malt and hops with a slight metalic finish. Not bad.

Pale amber, fading macro-like white head. Aroma has pleasant aromatic hops with sugary bread overtones... leads into more of a cilantro grassy hop thing. Flavor is surprisingly sweet to start. Generic grassy sweet malts. Seems like IPA meets Miller. Overall watery palate and light flavor.

Bright copper. Nose lightly hoppy, some citrus, very sweet. Malt/hop balance in the flavor definitely leans towards the malt side, very sweet stuff, fruitiness is of orange, pineapple, and the citric hops. Good palate, very full and creamy.

Light golden brown color. Floral hop aroma. Moderate bitterness, some citrus, earthy notes. Pretty run of the mill american pale ale.

A nice drinkable APA. Kind of average, no real complaints though. Beyond that, not much to say about this. I would but I just rated hell of beers and I’m tired.

Pours a dark golden color. Sweet slightly aroma. Has a crisp bitter hoppy flavor. Malty with sweetness as well. Finish is somewhat bitter. Drinkable. A bit of a funky aftertaste.

Well - with a name like Highlander and the plaid label, and I didn’t see "Pale Ale" in the small print - I was really expecting a Scottish Ale. This is just bland. Orange/gold, clear and somewhat watery looking. Aroma is sweet and malty. Taste is medium bodied, some prickly carbonation, bready sweet malts. Finish is half dry, half lingering sweet.

(12 oz bottle) The malt is on the sweet side and a bit bready; Mild bitterness doesn’t balance out the sweet maltiness, not even in the finish. Mild orange citrus flavor remains in the background from start to finish. In fact, this beer doesn’t really seem much change from start to finish. Light to medium in body, and it seems a little watery at times. Not too much nose, but it is lightly sweet with a hint of hops. Medium yellow in color. The off-white head pours to average size, and fades to a ring, leaving no lacing. This isn’t a bad little beer, it’s surely drinkable enough, but it’s just very ordinary.
