(#44) 22oz bottle poured into tulip glass. Appearance: Golden yellow with a slight haze. White frothy head that leaves some bubbles and good lacing. Aroma: Spiciness is notable. Cloves, pepper is there, banana, lemon, pineapple, perhaps some grapes, cereal, breadiness. Taste: Peppercorns very apparent. Citrus fruits. Almost seems to mellow out on the flavor side. Palate: Light-Med bodied. Smooth. Good carbonation. Wish flavor would hit better on aftertaste. Overall: Itís good. Could use more of a predominant pepper/spicy flavor throughout. Seems to lose something though...it might be contributed from me having this bottle for awhile and finally drinking it now. Iíd buy it again to try it more fresh. I suggest trying it for sure.

Peppercorn nose, peppercorn mouth. Not very balanced, mildly effervescent. Tries too hard to be something good and when that happens you know it will likely fail and it didnít...though didnít crash and burn for its credit.

Orange hazed pour with a thin white head. Subtle black pepper on the aroma with some sweet maltiness and spicy, yeasty notes. Tastes of toasty malt, light fruit, bubblegum, pepper, spice, hay, floral notes on the finish. Nice, but this could use a little more peppery kick.

Sample at the brewpub in Berkeley on 8/8/10. Clear gold pour with a medium off-white head. Herbal aroma with notes of nutmeg, pepper, tomato and sweet malt. Peppery flavor with malt, banana and ginger before a peppery finish.

22 oz. bottle- Pours crystal clear golden with a nice white head, good lacework. The aroma is spicy peppercorn and kind of sweet, I love saisons with that spicy peppery aroma/flavor. The taste is a little funk followed by pepper, though I like the spicyness of it, it doesnít have the complexity of a Belgian saison. I feel its a bit simplistic, but is very good. Palate is a bit thin, carbonation is average for the style, I actually wish there was more peppercorn in the taste, I definitely taste pepper, but I love pepper, I shake the pepper shaker onto my potato salad until you canít see white, but thats food and this is drink, I get it. I just wish the flavor lived up to the aroma.

Sampled at OBF 2010. A little sweet aroma followed by a pleasant tingle of pepper that is not overwhelming. Taste sticks to the tongue. Good summer and food beer.

Bottle: Pours a dull tangerine color with a modest sandy head. Nose is earthy, florals, lightly spiced, and yeast. Some citrus and lemon zest in the flavor, light florals and yeast. The little zing in the end is presumabley from the peppercorns. Interesting, but still sort of ho-hum.
