12 oz bottle. Labeled as Portland Brewing’s "Noble Scot". Pours a reddish mahogany color. Thick off-white head, some lacing. Aroma is smoked malt. Flavor is sweet caramel, with hints of smoky peat. Overall a very drinkable beer.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
A unique Scottish ale. Pours a clear amber with a tan head. Smells of malt and mint. More mint in the taste, along with a lot of maltiness. A bit one note. Had on tap at Pyramid Brewery for SF Beer Week.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle from Fred Meyer. Dark amber/brownish in color. Nose is quite roast with a good deal of maltiness. Roasty and smoked up front with some rich malt qualities. Finish is mildly hoppy.

I poured my glass out of a 22oz bottle labeled as Portland Brewing Noble Scot, but how noble can you be if you have an alias. A little hazy copper orange, not real pretty, but she'll pass at a 5' distance. I get the caramel smoke aromas, but there is something else I can't place, which earns interest points. Sweet caramel up front with a smoky aftertaste. I'd order another. Cheers!

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours a half finger of head on a hazy dark straw colored body.
The aroma mostly caramel with a little smoke and lemon in the background.
The taste has lots of caramel, toasted malt and some smoke. Nice profile.
The texture is slightly sticky with moderate carbonation.
I like it.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Poured from a 22 oz bottle as a very dark orange amber with a big frothy dark cream head. Malty but not as much as I expected. Even a slight almost whiskey aroma. Easy drinking especially well chilled. I was less impressed as the product warmed in the glass. However, a very affordable seasonal beer that I would buy again.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bomber from Malt & Vine as Portland Noble Scot. Pours deep dark orange (strong backlight) with a beige head. Light smoke aroma with some roasty malt. Med + body. Flavor is malty with some smoke. Almost peat. Not thinking this is subtle smoke. Not Paradox either, though. It’s definitely not dry, but it’s not yucky sweet either. Pretty good drink.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Slightly clear deep brown coloured body with a bright ruby and violet glow and a thick, four centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of toffee, cream, malt and some very subdued alcohol notes. Medium-bodied; Deep bittering malt flavours with tons of nuts and a light sweetness. Aftertaste has the faintest amount of spices, some light sugars and a bitter malt flavour that persists. Overall, a decent beer, but not complex nor pungent enough to be good. I sampled this stubby twelve ounce bottle purchased from Made in Oregon in Portland (PDX Airport - Terminal D) for US$1.99 on 08-December-2013 sampled at home in Washington on 04-February-2014.
