Pours a half finger of head on a hazy dark straw colored body. The aroma mostly caramel with a little smoke and lemon in the background. The taste has lots of caramel, toasted malt and some smoke. Nice profile. The texture is slightly sticky with moderate carbonation. I like it.

Poured from a 22 oz bottle as a very dark orange amber with a big frothy dark cream head. Malty but not as much as I expected. Even a slight almost whiskey aroma. Easy drinking especially well chilled. I was less impressed as the product warmed in the glass. However, a very affordable seasonal beer that I would buy again.

Bomber from Malt & Vine as Portland Noble Scot. Pours deep dark orange (strong backlight) with a beige head. Light smoke aroma with some roasty malt. Med + body. Flavor is malty with some smoke. Almost peat. Not thinking this is subtle smoke. Not Paradox either, though. Itís definitely not dry, but itís not yucky sweet either. Pretty good drink.

Slightly clear deep brown coloured body with a bright ruby and violet glow and a thick, four centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of toffee, cream, malt and some very subdued alcohol notes. Medium-bodied; Deep bittering malt flavours with tons of nuts and a light sweetness. Aftertaste has the faintest amount of spices, some light sugars and a bitter malt flavour that persists. Overall, a decent beer, but not complex nor pungent enough to be good. I sampled this stubby twelve ounce bottle purchased from Made in Oregon in Portland (PDX Airport - Terminal D) for US$1.99 on 08-December-2013 sampled at home in Washington on 04-February-2014.

Had this at the RB Pgh Halloween Spook-tacular Tasting/Drunkfest fall 2013, nice time at Hornydevilís place, thanks James & Michelle! And this bottle was courtesy of douglass88. Looks a little dark but not black. Its a little strong overall. Smells a little malty. Mild to the olfactory. Yes, noble like my friend doug and scott like me, Iím one quarter.

Growler. Clear deep amber tiny off white head. Aroma of toffee, dried fruit, dough and alcohol. Flavor is sweet and malty, caramel and fruit with very light smoke. Medium body with soft carbonation. Not too bad.

Ruby brown with a thin tan head. Aroma is mild, nutty caramel. Taste is the same, and rather neutral for style.

Sweet, bread crust, fruity aroma; a little bit of smoke. Similar flavors--but the fruitiness (cherry/apple) is much more prominent. Some caramel malt flavor, too.
