Amber in color, clear with a thin head. Nice Amber ale light with Scottish caramel flavors. This was just too light for me.

From bottle. Pleasing nutty flavor and deep brown ale aftertaste. Tastes better several weeks after buying.

Bottle:   Deep amber, moderate frothy sandy head, nice lacing.   Sweet bready nose, slightly nutty and biscuity.   Not as sweet on the tongue, remains bready and nutty.   A bit toasted, subtle campfire.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Plain finish, soft toasted malt, nuttiness, with a bit of sweet breadiness.   No real peat, and the subtle campfire is gone by this time.   Lighter example of the style.   Decent, but needs to be a bit more complexity.

Poured from a 12 ounce bottle. Huge malt nose with some toast and toffee. The flavor is lots of malts and fruity yeast. A nice malty Scottish ale.

Out of the bottle from Bales. Pours a tan color with a coarse head that settled quickly. Smells and tastes malty without much hop characteristics. The taste is well balanced and makes this a good beer.

yak. pour: copper with white head, lingers on top for drink duration. nose: sweet caramel malt..slightly smoked, thats it not much going there. taste: nice mouthfeel sweet amber malt, a little bitter then a touch of smoke, which is the lasting impression of taste. Overall, nice drink, not warming like a winter so appropriate for a "bonnie" day of fall, notable body, adding a subtle amount of smokiness which is pleasant and adds to the enjoyment. worth a tasting.

12 ounce bottle from the State Store on 3300 South- thanks for the tip Dallas! Pours a mostly clear mahogany color with a small white head. A big malty nose with some figs and dust. The flavor is a smooth sweet malty brew with light bread, some yeast, dust, metal. Quite good and crisp.

12oz bottle from the state store
Appearance: Pours clear dark amber with a small beige head and some lacing
Aroma: Toasted malts, smokey and caramel
Taste: Toasted malts, sweet caramel, grainy, smokiness and bitter citrus in the finish
A nice beer. This would be a great beer to take camping, sipping next to a campfire.

The first Scottish Ale I recall truly enjoying. This one has a pleasant, appealing flavor. Nice and heavy too. Good on you, Mac!
